Strut brace that clears an plenum cover?

Has anyone gotten a FRPP strut tower brace to fit over a intake plenum cover? I really like the look of the Running Horse cover and would like to use the FRPP STB so I have something in the engine bay that says FRPP, and it comes with the handling performance package that I plan on getting. What about if I removed the grommets off of the side mount points on the cover and let the cover sit right on top of the nuts on the rear and them mount it with the grommets on the top.And or putting some washers in where it mounts on the strut tower?.

Has anybody any problems with the Granatelli 05-06 Dual Bar Street STB not clearing?

The Steeda is the best looking one and it definitely clears the plenum cover since it clears most superchargers.

I tried to retro fit the FRPP brace with shim plates but then the hood wont close....if you figure it out let me know or else on e-bay it goes.

I have the oem GT500 stb which clears the cover, also I do not have a issue closing my hood, my buddy had a issue with hood clearance which was easy to fix by putting washers under the 2 rear bolts which angles the bar down enough to clear the hood.

I'll be getting the BMR piece. The Steeda one will work, but to keep from rubbing, you'll need a washer or two as a spacer on each bolt to give you just a bit of clearance.

you might check this? Or maybe not. I keep getting the message my pics have too many pixels to post. Don't know how to change them. What I can tell you is if you use an open ended "Barrel Nut" you can then thread the nut in place of the factory nut, then install your T/Brace. This will effectively raise tour brace approx 3/4". Have done this with mine and have no clearance problems. FRPP Ford Racing brace, with intake cover installed.

Your JLT Intake looks a little different then mine.... Is that the JLT sticker on the inlet tube or something else and did you add something around the heat shield or did it come with it?

05xgt , I know what a barrel nut is, but I am confused about the "open ended" part. What exactly do you mean here. Do you remember where you got yours? Thanks

Are you just going off of what the web site shows? I got one from them a few weeks ago. Send them an e-mail, I did, and couldn't be happier.

What I mean by open ended is, you can thread a bolt or threaded rod from both sides of the barrel nut. In other words, replace the two shock tower nuts with the barrel nuts, [use loctite for ins.] Now you should have approx 1/2" to 3/4" in of clear thread at the top of the nut . Using a flat washer, then your brace, another washer, [if nec] then bolt through once again using loctite. wahlah! Looks clean and no clearance probs. Got my Barrel nuts beleive it or not, at Ace hardware. Try to get Stainless Steel!!! Won't rust, just don't overtighten or the might gall. I pulled to 20lbs on upper bolts.
