Like Randy said, the oil filter will balloon, and the motor clearances are very tight, so these engines can't handle super thick oil. I would do a compression test/leak down test to see what the rings/valves look like. If the test shows low numbers, and the numbers rise after pouring 1tsp of oil down the cylinder, then your rings are worn. If that's the case, I would run 10w30 "dyno" oil, with a oil seperator to catch the oil in the intake system of the car. Lucas is fine too, just don't keep it in the engine for more than 3,000 miles. The lucas might actually free sticky lifters or seal the valve seals a little. But I would do the compression test first, just to see what the problem is.
