O/R X void warranty..??

Just as above, even though I live in cali i need to know if an O/R X will void my warranty. I want to leave it on when I goes in for service every 3 months !

Thanks
- Justin

Most def it will void your warranty, it's illegal and if the dealership sees that, they might be a A**H*** about it and report you. Damn Cali:bang:

This is a dealer specific question, you should ask yours. The service manager at the dealership I go to has assured me that they don't see anything other than what they are working on. ;) He told me that if I am coming in to have the motor replaced on my convertible top then he isn't going to worry if he sees a supercharger under the hood, but if I am coming in for a rough idle problem I might want to put the stock tune back in and remove the CAI.

There are a lot of people around here that think your entire warranty is going to void if you do anything more than a high powered air freshener but they must be going to the wrong dealership. By law, a dealer can only refuse coverage if they prove that the non OEM part caused the problem. They can not void your entire warranty for an off road pipe.

Where we live (In CA) they will void your warranty because it is illegal by law to have an o/r pipe in this state because in this state it doesn't past emissions standards and if they are an A** they will report you. But I guess if your lucky enough that they don't say anything then your good. What state are you in?

I am in CT. We just adopted California emissions standards here also. I still don't get what you mean about voiding your warranty. Illegal parts have nothing to do with a warranty, otherwise you had better not think about dark tints, neon lights, or anything hanging from the rearview mirror in most states if you want to keep your warranty.

If a dealership would report you to the state emissions enforcement then you might want to find a new place to spend your money, but that still has nothing to do with the warranty.

That's why I said if the dealership were an A** they would report you and as far as voiding the warranty, it varies from dealership to dealership. The one I had was cool with everything(As was yours too), but I know there are some dealerships out here in Cali that are a pita to deal with about warranty. All I can say it's borderline with warranty in most cases, but if people are worried about warranty so much then just swap the stocker back on when going to get it serviced.(Every 3 months though, Ouch)

That sucks you guys adopted Cali emissions man:(
