Also I think whoever plays the Ravens next will be dealing with a pissed off team.

Or a really deflated one, the Ravens before the game said it was their Superbowl. My guess is it will be pretty hard to duplicate that defensive tenacity and I find it unlikely that Boller will have nearly as good a game against the Colts D which imo is significantly faster and overall better than the Pats D.

BTW back in black about your sig. Hate to break it to you, the 70s Steelers were some of the biggest steroid guys ever in the NFL. You may want to remove the

"5 rings no cheating" thing, just an fyi.

Im not saying this as a patriots fan, but that was a catch that Caldwell had, He was transferring the ball to one hand to the other, he had control and 2 feet in. Argue all you want it was called a TD on the field and up held through replay.

Great game Ravens gave them a run for their money but as always the patriots did what they had to do when they needed to do it.

They are 12-0 and that's all that matters.

Next week Pittsburgh becomes the next victim

I think the catch was iffy, however there was not irrefutable evidence to overturn it since it was called a catch on the field.

If it was called a no catch on the field I dont think there would have been enough to overturn that either.

That wasnt what cost the Ravens the game though, misplaced time out calls on the 4th an 1, crappy time managemant on the last drive with 40 seconds or so to go, and the INT thrown by Boller.

My problem with the game was that I believe that a false start penalty on the offense should be able to be declined like a offsides on the defense. I have always wondered why it was that way, but this game was the first time I saw a false start actually hurt the defenese.

What they were looking for was separation between the ball and his hand showing a gap between them thus no control over the ball. None was seen thats why the play was kept as called on the field. Anyone can argue the catch all the want but the Ravens has opportunities to stop them before that and never did.

Exactly, Ravens had that game that was obvious but you cannot self destruct in the last few mins of a game especially against the Patriots. They are masters at taking advantage of other teams mistakes and they did exactly that against the ravens and thus came away with the win. The Ravens played 58 mins of football, not enough if you expect to beat a 12-0 Patriots team.

We will see...Pats are favored by 10 this week.

On another note, where you been? Haven't seen you around much in the last couple days.

I saw 14 in the paper yesterday unless its gone down to 10 today.

Been working and the Patriots game was a late game and I had to work the next day so I wasnt really around much. Im working next weekend so I wont be able to have any posts on the Steelers game until I get home at towards the end of the third even though I can watch it at work and listen to it on the raido until I get home.

They were not illegal then.

the Ravens did have their chances but the last call on the TD did go against them. This should be a good game this week. And Pittsburgh isn't horrible on the road. They are not great but horrible is a tough word to use. 2-3 is the record. As I said, its not good but everyone is gunning for the Pats now so I would throw all stats and records out. Anything could happen in this one.

I am not saying this as a staffer only as another member on here and there is nothing wrong with your sig BUT.. I would not put that no cheating thing in your sig not only because of the steroid stuff but because it sounds like your crying and making excuses about 01 and 04

Well anyways I can't wait for sunday, I think this will be a interesting game.. The ironic thing is the "blueprint" on slowing down the pats offense is exactly what the pats used to do to the colts and what they did to the rams in 01.. HOLD BUMP HOLD GRAB and HOLD some more..

If the refs don't call the holds then the steelers have got a decent chance.. This rule seems to be called very inconsistently.

At least you admitted it.. I still think that touchdown catch was not reviewed properly... they were focused on the feet but what about the fact he didn't have control of the football? It defiantly wasn't a catch.

You are allowed to shift the ball into a better position after the catch.. It does not have to be tucked in before you go out BUT you do have to seem to have control of the ball.. This is a judgment call and on this type of call the ref is looking for panic moves to get the ball in control and on this play there was none that they could use to overturn it.

But if it was called incomplete I am not sure they would have overturned that ruling with those replays.. It really was too close to overturn either way..

I really think this was a non factor.. Even if it was overturned the ravens had 30 yards of penalties on that play and I think they would have had a really hard time stopping the pats from scoring with 4 tries. even without the penalties you have the ball at the 8 with 3 shots at the end zone with moss and brady and the other weapons out there I like their chances to get it in.

BTW the worst non call of the season was on that hail mary.. Samuel was tackled by Mason on that play.. That was the most blatant offensive pass interference I have seen in years and it was not called.

Exactly, there was not enough evidence to prove it was a non catch. There was no separation between his hand and the ball therefore he had control of it, the fact he switched hands had nothing to do with it. You cant switch hands w/ out control anway.

Im sure they did see it but did not call it due to the fact the game was over and out of risk from being punched from one of the ravens players.
