Bought car at dealship, now they want to sue me???

I should be ashamed of myself and my career... maybe I will quit tomorrow and go work at BK. Well damn, if I do that someone will start a thread about how fat they are. Then, it's a new job. Soon it'll be a new home in a new town. Damn, I'd have to uproot the wife and kids and change schools and .... Wait.

I don't have kids or a wife. I don't take advantage of people. You feel like you got ripped by some fly by night nobody and nows it's every dealerships fault? Give me a break. Grow up and move on.

I know. I can tell by the way you bought a car with a bad transmission from a fly by night shady used car lot and didn't even bother to have it checked out before you bought it. Also by the way you didn't even bother to see if your state had a used car lemon law. If you had one of the warranties we had here, they would have not only fixed your transmission, but the electrical problems too. Root of all evil, I tell ya.

I looked it over 24 hours of owning and found and fixed the problems myself out of my pocket. Oh wait, I did check into a lemonlaw...did you not read that either. I had a warranty...what did you read, nothing? The stealership tried not to cover it!!! :Zip2:

Did I say you? or am I blaming all stealerships? Fact is, there is no stealership with stealer prices! Should we throw you a pity party for feeling sorry for yourself? This thread is about a particular issue I had with a stealership around here, not yours. You apparently have some issues you need to deal with or something...guilty consensus??? Name one time in this thread, I said "iLkYsPoNy's dealership is a rip off" I think you need to grow up and stop feeling sorry for yourself...

This whole situation is an yet another example of why non factory warranties just plain old suck.
What kind of dumbass dealer lets someone fix their own car or get their own private mechanic. What happens if the trans went again?
Essentially the dealer now would be warrantying the work of another shop that they are not affiliated with.
What prevents you from doing this multiple times?
All reasons this dealer should of handled their own crap, and the fact that they don't have their own shop or a shop they work closely with, just makes them morons, or they have shafted other local business's so nobody will work with them.

Now that i said that, i feel that you should of had the car fixed with the money, basically you frauded them out of the cash.
Athough i don't think they are going to be able to prove it in court.

I'm the moron? I'm not the one who just got burned on a pos I bought. Good job on the check tho. Who'd you have check it? Jiffy Lube? Did you have it checked AFTER you bought the car? I stick by what I said. You REALLY know how to buy cars. What a tool. Good luck with your upcoming fraud case. Next time buy it private party so you won't have a warranty to fraud. At least that way, it wasn't a stealership that ripped you off.

I don't think he is. Coming from an insurance background, I don't see how a warrenty issue would be all that different from an insurance claim. If you wreck your car the insuracne compay has to pay a reasonable amount to return your car to pre accident condition. But once we give you the money how you chose to spend it is completely up to the car owner. I have customers who just chose to sell their damage car & use the insurance money for a down payment on something else. Or they'll use the money on something else entirely (like putting on new stereo in the car or buying a PS3). It happens all the time. I don't see how this situation would be any different.

I agree. If they cut YOU a check and not the repair shop then its your money to do as you please. If the contract dosent say you have to provide proof it was fixed let them take it to court. I bet youd win. You could tell em you went to a junk yard and bought a used tranny then sold the car. How can they prove any differnt??? You can charge labor too plus the cost of a tranny.

You could counter sue them for all the other things wrong with the car that they refused to fix.

He bought the car AS IS. The time to have a problem with an as is car is before you sign and hand over the money. Not after. Also, I don't recall seeing if Mr. poor little customer disclosed the transmission problem to the person he sold it to.. Did you, rocket scientist?

I know a guy that got his car t-boned and totalled by a young lady that had no insurance or drivers licenses and she had a baby in the car. She sued his insurance company because she got hurt. She won $5000.00

Anymore its not a matter of whos right or wrong. We live in a corrupt society. We all know Dealerships screw people everyday. If he counter sues it would be better off than doing nothing,at least then the Judge has to listen to the whole story. He will likely get nothing out of it. BUT then again the Dealership may not get a penny either. The purpose of counter suing is to allow the Judge to hear both sides of the story and then he will make a decision based on all the facts.

All a dealership's paperwork is written by attorneys. Odds are, he also signed an arbitration agreement. He's going to lose in front of an arbitrator. But I'm sure you are right. What would I know? I've been told everything I know is wrong, and all you customer advocates know more about a car dealership than I do(did you learn this from the internets?). I was even told that I would rather not make money by doing warranty repairs. Good luck OP. I wonder how the person you sold the car to is making out with your problems? You DID give him a warranty and pay half to fix the problem, right?

Give it up.. No we don't. But then again, I forgot. We are supposed to sell cars at invoice, not make a profit, warranty them forever(actually, I have a jeep point, so I do. ).

I leave you with this advice. Come into my dealership with that attitude and I'm either going to not sell you a car, or give you another reason to hate us. Why not.. You are going to screw me on the survey anyway. Come in and treat me like a human being, and I'll make sure you leave so happy, you send friends to me.
