So cal
I cant stand driving my car any more with the Terrible drone it makes between 1700rpm and 2200rpm with the Flowmasters I have on there now....I want a muffler that is quiet at cursing, not too loud in general driving conditions, loud and throaty at wot, nice for a daily driver And NO DRONE...any suggestions on a new cat-back? Also peferabley a chamber muffler.
Current setup all 2 1/2" ,Mac shorty headers, Mac Catted H-pipe, 2ch. Flows dumped,

From your description, you want Magnaflow. They're very tame and almost sleeper sounding at idle and there's NO drone at cruising speeds even with dumps on my car, and they scream like a banshee at WOT.

I'm sure there's about to be 50 "____ sound awesome" comments....i'm just trying to go by your description.

+1. Cant argue with facts, and Magnaflows are a db away from quietest at cruising and second to loudest at WOT. They have it figured out. Not to mention there have been many muffler shootouts that show they provide some of the best HP numbers too. Best all around IMO.:nice:

i have no experience with anything other than what i've got right now. I'm running a dynomax super turbo catback, and it is SO quiet under about 3000 rpms. (its too quiet, i want to swap it), but after about 3500, it really picks up, even sets off car alarms as i drive by sometimes. i don't know, but seems like something you might be interested in so just giving my experience...

The main reason you've got drone is because of the dumps. True, even w/ tailpipes Flows will drone, but its not anywhere near as bad as the sound you've got now.

The fact that i don't have drone with dumped Magnaflows is why i suggested those. I'm not saying they're my favorite muffler, i personally like Spintech and Mac better but both drone a bit and both are MUCH louder all around. The Magnaflows do sound good and definitely sound different from everything else. It also doesn't hurt that they're full stainless and make good numbers on the dyno.

magnaflow is great and I love the spintechs, but the spintech is loud all the time. not that I dont love the rumbly sound of a v8, but I like to occasionally talk on the phone or hear my radio without having to turn the car off.

Yeah, dumped Flows would drive me nuts. Especially on a street car. I agree with the others about the Maganaflows but since you prefer chambered; 3-chamber Delta flows with tailpipes would be much more tolerable than your current set-up.

Hooker Aerochambers have almost zero noise at the dreaded 2k zone. Im gonna be switching out the Spintech sportsmans off of my car with them. They sound so good at WOT too.
