First off want to say THANKS to James@ RWTD! IMHO the BEST tuner out there and done an amazing job....spent alot of time with the tune and made sure it was dead on! I couldnt believe how much little stuff he tweeked to make sure everything was RIGHT....LOTs of stuff that I didnt even know about! Car runs SOOOOO smooth now its rediculous :hail2: . No on to the #s

Well didnt make quite as much as I expected, but the performance the car puts out is amazing! Things a BEAST! 3.10 upper with a 6# lower.

James also gave me the files in the .dlf format so I can look at them and thought I would use this time to show you guys the difference in SAE, STD, and UNcorrected...being the same pull minus the very last graph.

First off the familure SAE and I used an adverage 3 smoothing (+1HP from 0 vs 5..so smoothing doesnt make a HUGE impact on #s)

Second is the STD #s...lot of places use this as well, really to make good #s.
STD007.jpg

third is UNCORRECTED...this is teh ACTUAL amount of power the car put down without any fudging from the program based on weather.
Uncorrected007.jpg

Last one here was my biggest #s..run 005, but thats @ 12-1 A/F and James later put it down to a safer 11.8. STD correction...can compare to the above STD 007 run.

One thing id like to say though is that even though my porting didnt seem to do a WHOLE lot on the dyno (would have made MAYBE 470 MAX without the port...pulleying past the 6#lower only I had, doesnt do much of anything for HP...basically just torque gains) , the IAT2 temps went WAY down and stayed down even after pulls. It helps out ALOT in that department, and was well worth it JUST for the cooler charge it gives me...= more consistant performance and better real world results.
he also let me compare to a STG 4 steggy ported blower with a 2.76 upper (im not pullied much past this...2.76 + 2# lower= same as 3.1/6# combo) and that car with 1* more timing made 483/474....mine made 476/502. So I think it turned out very well. :nice:

BTW WHYASK looks to have gotten the closest on #s. All I asked for for HP,and his guess of 473 looks to be it. GREAT job bro!

Very nice numbers man. 500rwtq has got to feel great....Glad it worked out good for you...

On another note, before I got my car dyno tuned, I ordered an Email tune from RWTD. Not only did it take James over a week to Email me my tune, when he told me I would get it next day, but my car was running EXTREMELY lean in the 13.5-13.9 range. I repeatedly tried to contact James & never got my free retune he said i was going to get. He never even answered the emails I sent him. How hard is it to tune a car that only has a catted midpipe, C&L maf, & a catback (only mods I had at the time)???? There customer service was horrible & I dont care how great there tunes are, i would never spend another dime with that company....

Sorry to hijack your thread, but i just figured it would help others to know what type of customer service they will get if they order a mailorder tune from RWTD....

THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOU COMMENTS! :)

Overall those are good numbers, but they are a little low for your pulley combo I would think. With just a CAI, full exhaust, and a 2.93 upper James got 465RWHP/460RWTQ (SAE) out of my '03.

U.M.

Yea it seems to be a bit on the low side...but at my pulley combo these things just turn into heat pumps. There just isnt much HP to be had from a 2.93 vs my combo..I mean just a hair at best. Like I said I MAY have gotten 470RWHP out of it with no port...but my IAT2s would have been like they were before HIGH. Just a quick blast and they were sailing, and took a while to come down. My car now runs cooler IAT2s and heats up the same or less @ WOT then it did with just the 6# lower :)
Also you should note that the car was spinning the tires on the dyno, so he did a 2nd gear pull before that last run...and a 2nd AND 3rd gear pull on all the others before the actual pull to heat the tires up. So IAT2s started off higher than normal.

Do you have LTs UM?

Nice numbers man, I bet that is a real fun driver.

So... since your GT got boosted, and your Cobra came boosted, whens the 'Busa gonna get boosted?!?!? lol.

Iv thought about it LOL....but not really seriously. That darn bike is WAY faster than anyone needs to be able to go on 2 wheels as it is lol. It gets me over a 100 before I can realize it....its crazy! I think 2nd gear is already over the 100 mark. 1st does 8XMPH.

Crap that sucks! Im not sure whats up with that, but if you actually met the guy....one of the most polite and professional people I ever met. Even brought us food when he came to the shop! Talked with us like the whole time and exoplained ALOT about what he was doing....its was just insane how RIGHT he got the car. We left there completely satisfied....my car is 100% PERFECT.
Still no excuse for what happened....but I do admit he is tough to get ahold of...dont even try his shop # LOL. Best bet is email or better yet PM @ Modularfords. If he KNOWs what happened, I assure you he will fix it....probably just got lost in his email.

Also remember James is basically a one man operation. I wouldnt really call it a "shop". Its not like MPH or Amazon or anything. Hes just one heck of a tuner and all he does is tune cars and sell parts online. He doesnt want to get like that...he enjoys what he does. He is reguarded as one of the best tuners out there...like top 3 or so in the nation. And his parter Ed runs alot of the mail order stuff basically from upstate Alabama...supposedly he doesnt even go down state much at all.

BTW C&L MAF is your issue...its almost impossible to hit a tune with ANY aftermarket MAF. Their voltage per flow rates can vary alot....your really going to need a dyno tune unless someone gets lucky. Its quite abit harder than you think though....you tell it to command X a/f and you just have to guess at what the MAF Xfer function should be set at to attain that target. Without a flow sheet on the MAF, there is noway to really KNOW. Unless like said its a stock MAF.
BTW EDIT: Just seen you already had it dyno tuned....so thats great and exactly what you needed with that setup.

:hide:i still liked your TT stang more :hide:

but i would kill to have your cobra.. nice #'s man!.. so much for not messing with it eh? lol

:D Man im telling you....I thought I was going to leaver her alone haha! But after this tune, the car is SO nice I dont even want to clean the air filter in fear it may mess up the drivability LOL. Im just going to leave it alone now....really have it about like I want it :) Runs GREAT and drives GREAT. Although my goal was to make 500RWHP...that may be quite a ways off.

You are really in the minority here because so many people have had the exact opposite experience with James and RWTD.

Did you use his forums in your effort to contact him? That is the preferred method due to the high volume of calls made to RWTD. You see James spends the day out on the dyno tuning so it's difficult for him to personally answer the phone every time it rings. He would never get anything done as you can imagine. If you'd like I can contact James personally and have him address any issues you may still have? I know for a fact he and his partner Ed are dedicated to 100% customer satisfaction.

You got that right!

No, I run JBA shorties.
