1 of my next mods i want to get is pulleys (alt,wp, crank). but im having second thoughts. what concerns me is that i keep reading about overheating, draining power out of battery faster or blowing out the alternator. my uncle has march pulleys and it runs great but his car is a weekend car not daily. he has no problems only when he's in traffic for a period of time then it starts overheat a bit. i live in south floridas and temps in the summer gets around 88-91 degrees. the good is that i dont drive alot of mile for daily commute. a total of 4 miles a day. the set im looking at is bbk or march.

I have the March pulleys. As you might have seen in my thread- I've had some problems with the alternator not charging my battery. This is the second time I've had the pulleys on, and they worked fine the first time.

+1 :stupid:

I have ASP Pulley's and before my HCI swap, they drained my battery regularly. With the tune I have now, my idle is a bit higher so I've had no charging issues since...I never had any cooling issues.

I had some MAC ones, and my car would die at idle sometimes. Im willing to bet if I put them back on I wouldnt have a problem though. I have since changed my alt and got an Optima Red Top.

I didn't swap the alt pulley on mine when I had them before but I did on the water pump but I never had any issues. I don't even know if the stang I have now has them on it :rlaugh: if it doesn't it will soon.

I am running ASP pulleys from steeda.:nice: with all the mods in my sig I don't have a cooling problem, but for some reason at idle the voltage drops only to between the N and O but it won't drop any lower, not even when I turn the AC on and turn my hid's on.:nice: but I do have a relocated drycell battery.:nice:

AND my brand new 130amp PA performance alt is dead So Iam running my 130,000 mile stock alt.:D

oh i was figuring there wasnt any power gain. misconception i guess
im looking into either bbk or march since im on a budget. im still cautious about draining power out of the battery. the water pulley im fine since i try to avoid stopped traffic. hence to that, ill look into a 93 cobra pulley if i find 1.

I have BOI aluminum underdrives and have NO cooling issues what so ever and as no charging problems. And I have seen charts showing a 10-12 RWHP increase with u/d and 16lbs torque so for the $80 i spent on the pulleys thats pretty worth it. That and I also saw the 5rwhp from removing the snorkel, lol.

I have the Mac u/d pullies. My volt meter would show a drain, but never get below a certain point. It made my headlights dim while idling, but I never had stalling or a dead battery. Before I got my tune at the beginning of this Summer my car was getting close to overheating while sitting in traffic. My tuner set my idle at 850rpm's and I haven't had any problems since. My temp never goes higher than half way and my voltage stays at half as well. They are deffinately the best hp gain for the money spent. I noticed a nice gain from the SOTP meter. You could try to play with your idle screw to see if you can get the idle up some. This will help the accesories keep up at idle. It's worth a shot.

awesome. for the price, it seems like a bang for the buck. ill check around with idle once its on. now im on the market to buy some after the gears installed. im looking at march pulley or steeda. im not sure about the bbk set.
