Wow, some people really do some wild speculating after week 1 :rlaugh: sheesh. I love my Steelers, but I'm not gonna dry hump the whole team because they beat the crap out of the Texans.

Also, I had not been aware before last week that the Steelers had picked up Byron Leftwich. WTF happened to Charlie Batch? He was frickin' awesome for a backup QB.

yea because we all know that one game makes u a rockstar

Anyone who watched that game could see not only the physical talent the kid has but also the awareness and instincts that can't be taught. After his performance in training camp and the preseason as well as this first game, its safe to say the kid will be a player.

Woah. Stop. We watched too. Cutler made some good throws and some not so good throws. Overall he did look good. I wouldn't be sending him to Canton just yet.

Sure he made a couple bad throws, every QB does. But his good throws were lasers that were put in tight spots in good coverage and his "bad" throws were low and in the dirt where only his receiver had a chance...showing a big improvement in decision making.

The kid has been making big throws since he came to Denver. This isn't anything new for him.

I watched some of that game and all I know is the raiders look terrible. broncos looked good they beat the pathetic raiders like they should.

I think your going a little overboard in your assessment of the broncos WR'S and it sounds like you want to put cutler in canton for beating up on the raiders.

take it easy and wait a few weeks then you will be able to see where your team is in the pecking order.

BTW russel will never amount to anything in the nfl.. on draft day when he went first overall i thought it was a wasted pick and I still feel that way now.

Never underestimate how hard the Raiders play us. Chances are this game and their next game against us will be the best football they play all year.

And you still need to taking some reading comprehension classes. You and the other guy are the ones saying Canton...not me...and you're taking my analysis of ONE game and trying to twist it into something it isn't.

Yeah, after all Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, and Peyton Manning can't throw the ball worth a damn..
I see you're having trouble reading too, but I'll elaborate. Brady and Manning have good arms, but not on Cutler's level. I don't see anyone else in the NFL right now that has the arm strength and zip that Cutler has.

You might want to make sure Indy and New England got that memo.

You should probably wait to give all of those analyses in a few weeks after they play a couple teams that won't pick in the top 5 of the next NFL Draft. Wait til they have to play San Diego, at least.
Overall we got the better corps. They both have excellent starters but we have Marshall, Royal, Jackson, Colbert and Stokley on top of our tight ends. We're 5 deep with receivers who have legitimate starting ability. That's not analysis that needs to wait, as everyone except Royal is a known commodity.

so that's why he let the ball sail right through his arms in the endzone; costing me VERY VALUABLE fantasy points? :notnice:

so much for the best receiving T/E in the league...

That was a tough catch to make, it was low and thrown very hard. Remember though, Scheffler made the long catch and run to put us in position for that to begin with.

What wild speculation are you referring to?

Batch has a broken shoulder IIRC, so they had to sign Leftwich.

5.0 i thought you would give an unbiased review of your team. But you basically said they were one of the best in football. You didn't litterly say it, but with that review you made it quite apparent that you feel the Bronco's are the team to beat for the most part.

Yeah, that's what I mean by wild speculation...along with others seemingly wanting to predict the entire season of a team based off a game performance in week 1 (although I guess ESPN does it too)

Well which part of my review did you feel was inaccurate? The Broncos did score the most points in week 1 against what is supposed to be a highly improved defense and were very dominant. I'm not going to downplay the great game they had just to sound unbiased, but if you feel any part of my review was incorrect let me know and I'll be happy to discuss it.

Are we the team to beat? I think so, at least in the AFC West. It's basically between us and the Chargers and the Chargers didn't look very good from what I saw when they played the Panthers.

And I'm confident in this team because it's the same approach Shanahan took in 95 when he took over the Broncos. Dump the high price FAs and get the lunchbox carrying hard workers. We made a run to the AFC Championship just 3 years ago and Shanny tore that team apart to rebuild, and now we have almost all the pieces in place.

Well for starters you basically made Jay Cutler out to be the best QB in the NFL. While he may have arm strength, the poise and decision making of Peyton and Brady, and there accuracy is still superior to Cutler's. I'm sure others will agree.

Also the comment of the best receiving corps.. This can be highly debated, as it is a fairly opinionated comment.

On a side note - Webster is good, but i think you guys kinda overpaid a lil bit  Just IMO.

I never made Jay Cutler out to be the best in the NFL. I'd disagree on Manning have more poise as he's shown that he will fall apart if you start getting pressure on him and hitting him. I'll give Brady the edge on short to intermediate accuracy but beyond 25-30 yards I'll take Cutler. Brady just doesn't have the arm strength to put passes on a rope in tight places deep down the field.

I don't see it as being too debateable. What other NFL team has 5 receivers that could be legitimate NFL starters?

We signed Webster for not much more then the vet minimum. He's not even making a million a year.

do you beat off to pictures and videos of him to every night before you go to sleep :rlaugh:

Your so one sided is pathetic. If its not anyone paying for Denver you make them out to be crap based on one game but if they play for Denver they are the best EVAR!!!!!

Hey I don't like every player and every team in the NFL but I give my props where they are do. I think very highly of Brady b/c of what he has accomplished in the NFL over the years, Cutler beat the Raiders on week 1 and you put him on a pedestal. Very pathetic.

Really? I guess you didn't see either of the Pats-Dolphins games last year. Go back and watch his TD passes to Moss in the first game and his TD pass to Jabar Gaffney in the second game.

You need to come back down to earth. For all that crap you talked, you're being absurd and acting like the Broncos are the team to beat.

As far as WR corps, here are a list of ones that are better:
Indy
New England
Arizona
Green Bay
Pittsburgh

your a complete and total Homer through and through. Its one thing to support your team, its another thing to talk $hit about everyone else's teams/players and then post up this stuff about your team. There are players/teams who played just as good or better then the bronco's did but no one else here is dry humping them.

do you beat off to pictures and videos of him to every night before you go to sleep :rlaugh:
Weak. Is that the best you got?

Another ignorant post. I never said anything about the Broncos being "the best EVAR!!!" and only gave a review on the game. The more you post the more you show that you lack basic reading skills and base your football takes on emotion rather than factual evidence.

I'm not attempting to cut down Brady at all (IMO I'd rather have him than Manning) but to say his arm is comparable to Cutler's is just incorrect.

And lets remember that this is the start of Cutler's 3rd year, it's not like the Raiders game is the only sample we have to go on. He played good in his rookie year and was playing very well last year with unchecked diabetes that caused him to lose almost 30lbs.

I don't care if you cut down Brady or not I could care less I know what he has done and how good he is so your opinion of him does not matter. You need to take the frigging blinders off. Your sadly mistaken if you think the Bronco's are THE team in the NFL as you are making them out to be. Having discussions w/ idiots like you is pointless. I'm just ignoring you from here on out b/c your posts are total garbage. If we all just don't respond to anything he says it will be best for everyone and for this thread for the season.

I'm never said Brady didn't have a good arm, but it's not on Cutler's level. How about you go back and watch Cutler to Javon Walker against the Cardinals in 2006? Cutler threw a perfect laser that traveled 65 yards in the air. This wasn't a lob pass either, it was a laser that hit Walker in the hands, in stride at the goal line.

How many QBs in this league have the arm to do that? Not many.

You need to come back down to earth. For all that crap you talked, you're being absurd and acting like the Broncos are the team to beat.
I've only given a review based on the game we have played. We scored more points than ANYONE and totally dominated the Raiders. Until we have something else to go on I can't see how anyone can objectively have negative things to say about the Broncos with the exception of the couple things I outlined in my review.

And so far, neither you or Redline have offered any sort of counter-analysis, but rather latched onto a few pieces of my review and tried to put a spin on them.

As far as WR corps, here are a list of ones that are better:
Really? Lets put that to the bull**** test.

What a joke. They do have two excellent starters in Wayne and Harrison, and Gonzalez is a young prospect, but once you get past those guys not one of their backups has a single NFL catch.

New England
Not much needs to be said about Moss, and Welker is the perfect compliment, but beyond that you only have Gaffney who is a decent journeyman and then a whole lot of nothing.

Another case of 2 good starters (one who is demanding a trade) followed by a bunch of nobodies and a young Early Doucet.

Green Bay
2 good starters, a decent backup and a bunch of nobodies.

Pittsburgh
One good but aging starter, an average at best #2 and a couple young prospects who haven't done anything yet.

So you got those guys who are, at best, 3 deep with starting material...and then you got the Broncos who are 5 deep. I rest my case.

You need to take the frigging blinders off. Your sadly mistaken if you think the Bronco's are THE team in the NFL as you are making them out to be.
You and a few others are the only ones saying that, not me. Further proof you need to go back to school and learn how to read.

Having discussions w/ idiots like you is pointless. I'm just ignoring you from here on out b/c your posts are total garbage.
Figures. You ran around here last year like your **** didn't stink because of the Pats run, and then disappeared after the Pats choked in the SB. Now this year you come in here, flip out when someone doesn't have a rosey take on your beloved Pats and try to twist around everything I've said but cry foul when I turn around and lay that **** in your lap.

You've pretty much moved yourself from the "arrogant but ultimately decent" category to the "spineless, fairweather fan d-bag" category. Call me when you grow a set of balls and learn to quit acting like a tool.

If we all just don't respond to anything he says it will be best for everyone and for this thread for the season.
Yeah, after the way you acted last year I somehow doubt you're going to get much support.

I agree 100% with Redline & Jason. Did I just say that? Yes.

5.0GTkid- you are acting like a homer, you just don't see it. I remember you making grandious comments about Cutler last year that made me chuckle also.
Get clear on this: What you are saying about Jay Cutler is NO DIFFERENT than what a Redskin fan may say about Jason Campbell. No different at all.

Cutler is young and he looks pretty good. My friend and I both saw some good throws by Cutler last night and some bad ones also. He's OK and probably will get better with more experience.

We are not saying he sucks or anything like that. You have him in Canton already and it's just laughable. He has accomplished nothing so far. He doesn't hold a candle to the top QB's in the NFL yet and Denver's receiving corps is average at best.

Thank you, mrvax. Glad we can finally agree on something football-related. :nice:

Another issue I have with the homerisms of 5.0 is that he said the TE for Denver was one of the best? How about these names:
Jason Witten
Ben Watson
Dallas Clark
Jeremy Shockey
Antonio Gates
and even Kevin Boss (Yes, I think he's going to be very good after he gets this year under his belt from what I saw in his limited action last year)

I think all of those and a few others are ahead of him. I just can't get over how much of a homer this guy is being.

At first, i was agreeing with 5.0.. But now, i see that his comments were biased. Its clear 5.0 that you are favoring the Broncos.

I am 100% a Giants fan, but for me to come out and put my team on a pedestal is just not the right thing. I think your not looking at the reality that is the NFL.. For you to say Brady and Manning don't hold a candle to Cutler, i think your very mistaken. Brady and Manning are some of the best to ever play the game.

I'm not saying the bronco's aren't a good team with a good QB because they are. But they are not as high and mighty as you made them out to be. I think the Pats in there current position would be about to beat out the Broncos.
