Wouldn't it be more fair to compare the top of the line Camaro to the top of the line Mustang? Shouldn't the SS be compared to the GT500? If nothing else, they should at least wait for 2011 when the GT gets a 400hp 5.0L.

Yeah wtf? They compare the better model camaro with the base GT Mustang, even though they show GT500 pics.

Well the SS is the new mid level car. The Z28 is not being released till next year and will trump the SS in performance So the comparison is right.

Road & Track also surmises that a Z28 model will join the range sometime after the convertible bows in 2010, but that it will trump the SS – completely going against the Camaro’s history. Power for the Z28 is said to be sourced from a detuned version of the Corvette ZR1’s supercharged LS9 motor, making somewhere in the neighborhood of 480 to 500 horsepower.

People had this same argument in 93. "Why they putting the new Camaro against the old Mustang, why couldnt they wait a year?" And it kicked its ass too! Its Fords fault they dropped the ball and delayed a year for their new engine. Chevy has a better car for 2010 IMHO. Not compared to a GT500 mind you, but a regulr GT. But then the Z28 will be their answer to the GT500 and I bet it gives it a much better run then a Challenger SRT8.
Pretty soon the mullets will have factory displacment and FI

You guys know I am a die hard Ford fan but I appreciate other makes as well and I think the new Camaro is a home run.

Should be plenty of head/cam cars in the low/mid 11's in the first year they are made. Aftermarket companies don't have to play catchup.

You should come down and see some of the powdercoated parts that I already have done, but I'm still waiting on some before I can continue
