Soooo i've been rocking the bbk(i think) piggybacks for almost 3 years now and i cringe everytime i look at them while the car is running. Too much movement for me. Well i finally bit the bullet and copped a set of STEEDA'S. They literally just got here and i'll be installing them this afternoon. I'll post up teh pics when i finish:nice:

Yea i just couldn't find any info or enough people to give me any info about them so i went with what i knew was a great product. One minor setback though. The Water pump pulley that came with the steedas made the belt not line up correctly, so i just used the pulley from the bbk kit and it worked. I still gotta get a socket big enough to remove the alternator pulley bolt so i can swap the two pulleys so i only have the harmonic balancer on there but thats fine since its the main reason the kit is sought after. well heres some pics i snapped

you must have the old long style water pump.if you ever have to replace the water pump just buy the newer one and then you can use all the steeda stuff.one thing i don't get is why your car would even have the old style pump.my 02 gt has an 11/01 build date and it came with the newer pump.i know it's never been changed cause i've owned it since new!

Well i called AM and asked if i could send the h2o pulley back and they send me the right one but since i "tried" installing it they said they couldn't take it back, so i guess i'll have to wait until the pump goes out(hopefully not for a long time) to put the steeda one on. Oh well at least i had the bbk pulley still, and at least i got the Harmonic Balancer on there.

My car was a 10/01 build and has the new pump also.

im still leary about buying UDP's... ive considered it... specifically for the power increase... but im worried about the decreased output from the alternator... especially when i install HID kits in the near future...
sigh... i just dont know

Check out the link above. I don't really think it will putt out any less. the RPM's of the Alt pulley will be about the same. if you are worried about it just get a slightly smaller ALT pulley and it will spin faster. but if you spin it to fast the ALT will start to fail.

I've had the Steeda pulleys for about 3 years with no prob.

so on piggyback setups, the stock balencer just sits there with no belt on it?

Yea, granted in that pic i had already popped the belt off the alt. But yea it just bolts to the silver one in the pic and that is what "balances" the udp. Its a ****ty setup and it vibrated like crazy. If you get a set do yourself a favor and get the Steeda's. I can definately feel a difference in smoothness which makes it feel wayyyyyy better on accel.:nice:

i acually have steeda udp's, but i have never seen a piggy back setup before, just the look of that would scare me away:notnice:............
