Official 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Thread

Give it up Strype. Throw all the facts and figures you want at him, it won't make a difference. He's just butt-hurt that Dale's more popular regardless whether he wins or loses. It literally eats him up on the inside. You can tell by the tone of his posts how it gnaws away at him. Watch, he'll HAVE to reply to this, he has no choice, he hasn't the willpower to not post something derogatory about Jr. every chance he gets.

Wait for it... wait for it...

Oh yeah it bothers me so much I loose sleep over it :rlaugh:

I could care less I just like pointing out the fact that he is hyped so much yet has not even come close to winning a championship and everyone said well when he gets to Hendrick everything will be different. Hes over rated that's all Ive ever said and that's what the numbers prove

Yeah, well you sound like a fricken' broken record with this chit. Give it a damn rest will ya? We know how you feel because you make it abundantly obvious with every post in this thread.

By the way... I didn't get to see any of the race yesterday, but I heard there were still unsold tickets left for Bristol when all was said and done. When was the last time THAT ever happened???

I also see that kyle won once again. Honestly I can stand the guy, he's about as charismatic as a lump of coal, but the dude can drive for sho.

Jr. slowly climbs another 5 spots up the ladder with his crappy 14th finish and is now in the top 20. He'll work his way into the chase by mid-season I'll bet.

I saw plenty of empty seats, I find it hard to believe it was a sell out, but this article says otherwise:

NASCAR.COM - Bristol sells out Food City 500 to keep streak intact - Mar 22, 2009

I guess some corporate sponsor types swooped in at the last minute and bought all the "reduced to $5 tix" to help Bristols image.

I wish Jimmie would have done a JPM and gave KyBu a nudge to take the win. I bet that would have won him over some new fans :D

Where are you getting you stats from? Edwards was been driving for 4.33 years and has 16 wins through 2008. That is more than 3.5 per year.

KyBu is such a class act

FOX Sports on MSN - NASCAR - The Hot Pass: Busch wins, reignites Dale Jr. feud

here are some quotes:

When the race's sixth caution was called for debris on Lap 320, Busch noted which lapped car was allowed to return to the lead lap. ''Eighty-eight, lucky dog," he crowed into his radio. "Hahahahaha!"

Busch took the lead 47 laps later. Although he relinquished one lap to Hamlin over the final 135 circuits, his crew heard the message and was able to hold the lead for Busch in the pits on the final stop.

"I told the ladies to man up and they did," Busch said.

I have to wonder, how much longer he will be able to keep crew members? I can't believe that put up with his crap. They must be paid well

NASCAR.COM - Want to work with Kyle? Then prepare to man up - Mar 22, 2009

In Saturday's episode the star of the show was about to win another Nationwide Series event, until he made a pit stop with 46 laps remaining. That's when a tire bounced off the concrete pit wall during and got away from his crew. Busch left the box with the tire still unsecured, earning him a stop-and-go penalty and eventual sixth-place finish. His displeasure was evident over the radio. "Y'all suck!" he chided his team before parking his car in Turn 3, right by the track's exit tunnel. Furious, he took off while his rebuked and bewildered crew was still trying to determine where the vehicle was.

Car owner Joe Gibbs praises Busch for occasionally stopping by the race shop and buying his crewmen lunch. Addington says the driver takes care of his teammates in ways the public can't see. But what the public often does see are words and actions that only feed the negative image so many have of Busch, as the thunderous boos that rained down on him in driver introductions will attest. Episodes like Saturday's only provide more ammunition for those in the grandstand who see him as petulant and spoiled, obscuring even the phenomenal talent so obvious on Sunday as he flawlessly picked his way through lapped traffic.
occasionally drops by? He should be there every day the rest of the TEAM is there
For me, I don't think I would enjoy having the most fans out there. I actually like the way I am, the role I portray. And I think that there's probably too much pressure on one guy's shoulders who doesn't seem to win very often. But for us, it's a blast to go out there and do what we do."

Those were, of course, a couple of not-so-veiled shots at Dale Earnhardt Jr., NASCAR's most popular driver, who's won only once in his last 103 Sprint Cup starts and finished 14th Sunday. The two drivers have a bit of a history -- it was Earnhardt who ultimately took Busch's ride at Hendrick Motorsports -- and don't necessarily get along very well. Will Earnhardt retaliate? Tune into next week's episode and find out.

Hamlin was a very good sport and did'nt act pissed off or anything at Johnson in his interview. You can bet he'll get some payback at one of the next short tracks later in the year if the opportunity presents itself. I'm sure Kyle Bush would have been

In the make-up day truck race today Kyle Busch got a pit stop committment line violation near the end of the race that took him out of the chance for a win. After the race was over he got out of his truck and ran completely off the track. :rlaugh: What a sore loser. The vid is on nascar.com

:rlaugh: I wonder where the hell he thought he was going? That place he jumped the wall at leads to the trailer areas where you buy t-shirts and stuff, or if he went left you go underneath the grandstands to the camping area on the other side. I went to Martinsville in 2001.
