Hey guys. I need some input on some guesstimates..
Im thinking of De-tuning my car abit.. Making it more street, driver friendly
My car is to powerful for everyday driving and no Im not bragging,.. It just has to much torque I think. But I was thinking of removing the turbo kit and keeping it N/A
Here is what I would have without the turbo kit:
AFR Heads 185's, 68cc chamber if I remember correctly
331 cubic inches.
SRP dished pistons
8.8 compression ratio
Crane 2031 cam (im pretty sure that was the number)
Holley systemax intake
Lightning 90mm air meter, 42# injectors
Ok, so here is the deal.. I would keep most mods, except remove the turbo and get a slightly more agressive cam, but I would be putting in flat top pistons that will increase my compression ratio to 9.7...
So with that in mind, I will have these mods:
heads as listed above
still 331 cubic inches
SRP flat top pistons
9.7 compression ratio
"stage 2"? cam.. more agressive then what I have but not outragous
same intake and lightning meter and injectors, headers, xpipe, exhaust obviously
So my question is.. With it normally aspirated, what kind of power would I be making? estimates.. How much of a jump is from N/A 8.8 to 9.7 compression ratio?
Im thinking very seriously of tearing the car down again and starting from scratch. Mostly because Im not driving it much anymore and my girl is scared of driving it cause its to fast... And I think if I de-tune it, I would drive it more frequently too.. kinda be able to "cruise" it more
Also I should mention I was thinking of cutting the heads to increase compression too, but first wanted to see whereabouts I would be by pretty much just swapping the dished to flat top pistons and a different cam.. so yeah

this could be the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

IMO w/ what your telling me, I would sell your setup on ebay, in 1 week you'll have your cash, hell PM me what you have and some pix, and if I can keep my stock K member and I might buy your turbo setup.
