73mm calipers w/stock mc?

Use a master cylinder with a larger bore to supply fluid for the larger 73 MM pistons in the calipers.

See 87-93 Mustang 5.0 Brake upgrade pages. Improve your 60-0 times! for the best and cheapest brake upgrades and 5 lug swaps. The site doesn't sell anything but some fittings, but the tech notes are great. It tells you what junkyard or remanufactured parts to use to upgrade your brakes. It has almost everything you could want to know about Mustang brakes on it.

I tried it, the stock MC didn't cut it.
With that said, if you haven't already purchased the calipers, i wouldn't bother, it's not worth the money or trouble for a piston that is only a few millimeters bigger.

nope...haven't pulled the trigger yet. guess i'm gonna swap in a new booster and some ss lines for now.
what did you end up doing?

I Put it back to stock, then later on went to dual piston pbr/cobra/bullit brakes, with 13 inch discs on 95 spindles.
Which is something worth the change.

If you plan on doing a real brake upgrade in the future, don't blow any money on improving the stock stuff other than general maintainance.

+1

Unforuntatly the correct MC to run the 73mm fronts with rear drums doesn't exist.

Stock MC is 21mm bore and the next size up is the cobra 15/16" MC (23.8mm)

Unfortunately you need an MC righ smack dab in the middle
