SN95 TB VS Fox TB dyno comparo.

and there you go prokiller just check what nmcgrawj poster for a good example.

Thats a good start but hardly an answer. I'm really amazed at the flow rate differences that Accufab has. Are we to assume that they are 5.0 throttle bodies or they could even be 4.6 TBs. We don't know if the way the Idle openings effect the flow or not for example. I wouldn't think it would matter much but its another unknown variable.

I got flow numbers from Edelbrock:
70mm fox #3825 - 625 CFM
70mm sn #3845 - 625 CFM
75mm fox #3826 - 700 CFM
75mm sn #3846 - 700 CFM

Since when is everyone's flow numbers created equal? Edelbrocks has some serious slack to pick up. I would hate to see Pro Products numbers.

Accufab TB's are the MM size as stated all the way down to the throttle blade. IIRC other TB's are the MM size as stated by the opening and then taper down. I'm not sure if thats the exact explanation but I know it was something like that that made the Accufab TB's different then others.

Cool.

But even edlebrock vs. holley is laughable. :nonono:

Im glad i got an accufab years ago :rlaugh:

I totally agree with what nmcgrawj is saying. If you're looking to pick up serious power, don't waste your money on all kinds of throttle bodies. I run an old 70mm BBK Edelbrock throttle body I got at a car show, and a 73mm MAF. The manifold pressure still drops to zero at full throttle. A basic throttle body is going to outflow any one of our engine combos anyway. That's why I didn't see merit in this whole debate about switching to a Fox setup. The fox setup is an older design that is known for jamming, especially with aftermarket throttle bodies. One of the marked improvements with the SN was the improved quality of the throttle body. I don't see the point in messing with it.

The only reason the throttle response feels better on a fox is because of the angle/shape of the cam that the cable connects to on the TB. I've owned both Fox and SN95 cars for many years and I personally dont like the "super touchy" feeling gas pedal the Foxs have.

And if you can't get a good idle with a SN95 setup then either something mechanically is not working correctly or you need a new/better tuner

Ive been using the same tuner for years he does great work knows mustangs very well. All the components on the 94/95 set up had been tested and working properly, TPS..exc exc... All I know is my car idles sooooo much better then it ever has before and the only major change is to the fox set up. Plus I love the snappy throttle response, its sweet :nice:

It's only snappy when you barely press the accelerator like slowly driving through a parking lot. It doesn't matter when going WOT at the track...lol

Besides, with having ~500rwhp and a Stage 3 clutch which is like an on/off switch anyway, I need as much un-snappy-ness as I can get off idle

Upgrade to a 3+ or 4+, it's not snappy at all.

Yeah, I don't see how having a fox throttle body makes it idle better or gives it better throttle response. My 347 idles great at 900 rpms.

The only difference between a 3 and a 4, is that the 3 has a sprung hub, and the 4 has a solid hub. I took a chance, and went with a 4+ solid hub model. I'm very pleased with it. It engages very smoothly.

My Stage 3 is a Hybrid model. That's what they called it when I got it years ago and they said it was something they were just starting to come out with. It has the grip of a stage 3 but the pedal feel of a stage 2. Don't know if it's the same as what they now call 3+ or not. I bought it from SPEC at the 2nd to last World Ford Challenge that was here in St. Louis, so about 5 years ago?? It is a full surface design and not the 4 puck design

I've had two SPEC 3s and the 4+. They do a lot of experimentation though. I had the original SPEC 3, which was very grabby. The new one I have is great.
