I'm thinking the OP one is a little bigger than the WT one. But even if they were identical, you wouldn't want to mix/match them. Sensors are VERY specific parts .... specific gauges have specific sensors.

For oil? There isn't a factory one.



If you're referring to water temp. ..... then it is on the lower intake. At the front, driver's side.


EDIT: BTW, I don't think I should have called them "sensors". But they each serve a specific purpose .... just as a sensor would do.

Stock one = parts store.


Aftermarket = from same company. (i.e. get an AutoMeter sender from AutoMeter). You would have to call them probably. They usually send a specific sender with every new gauge.

Got her done & everything is working perfect! After 4 trips to the parts store, I'm glad that is over. I have a bad tendency to "over-torque" things. And when you're working with fittings that are made in China .... guess what happens. The biggest problems were 1.) Chinese fittings breaking, 2.) stock sender breaking (probably made in China, lol), and 3.) adjusting everything so that the stock wiring would reach & have everything clear the oil filter.

Overall this is really easy, though. Thanks so much Ernan! And you too JT!

Heehehe , you have no idea how many times i break bolts ,studs, i have no feelings , (i had bad experience once with wheel falling off)
I torque my wheel lugs with leg and everybody here knows i'm big guy

Ok, this is what I got so far. All I need now is the part that points down right? Im thinking that and maybe a longer part that goes into the block. And I will swap the stock and after market senders.

I think the aftermarket (bigger) sender has to be on top to clear the oil filter. Thats why the stock on is pointed down.

Eric, you can do whatever packages alright. I think mine's just like yours, except that the 90* fitting might be spun a little more towards the aftermarket sender. I just balanced what fit and was tight enough.

You can use whatever size extension pipe you want - be careful if going longer because that's some decent weight on the threads and fitting.

Yea, Ill adjust it when I get it in sunday. I figured it would fit, but im worried that the long tube may be too long.

As for the weight, I may use soem wire to support it a little if I feel the need to.

Ok this is what I got now.

I had to modify mine a little bit. If you have A/C and use a Motocraft filter, you may need to also. I used that 2 in piece on the end and put that in the block, the put the elbow on that and the tree was hanging down with the aftermarket sender pointing towards the driver headlight and the stock sender pointing straight down. It JUST clears everything perfectly.

EDIT> I also had about a 1 in. piece between the tree and the 2 inch pipe and then had that little half inch part that is completely threaded to connect the tree to the parts in the block.

From left to right, it looks like he used:

1/4" male NPT x 1/8" female NPT.
1/8" NPT double male. I grabbed a couple lengths of these for fitment with my senders. He used a shorter adapter than I did.
1/8" NPT all female Tee.
1/8 male x 1/8 female 90* bend fitting.
Then a 1/8 male x 1/4" female (to accept the stock sender).

Ernan or anyone else, please correct me if it looks like I eyeballed the fittings wrong.

I got all my brass at Lowes if that's easier.

I know I'm bringing this thread back from the dead but I'm trying to assemble the fittings for this project. I found all of the fittings on AutoZone's site, except for the 1/8" NPT double male fitting. I can't seem to find it anywhere online either...anyone know a part number or have a link for me? I'd greatly appreciate it

With having a Vortech oil feed a setup like that doesn't work too well because you'd still be 1 port short. I'm using an oil filter sandwich adapter that has three 1/8" NPT ports and it works fine. I'm only using 2 ports and have the third plugged. It was cheap (about $30) and very easy.

Although it may not work with a cobra and the factory oil cooler.
