None of the part #'s Ernan posted have worked, lol. Guess I'll have to go in and ask if they can look up those #'s. But he has still been very helpful. Thanks bro.

From left to right, it looks like he used:

1/4" male NPT x 1/8" female NPT.
1/8" NPT double male. I grabbed a couple lengths of these for fitment with my senders. He used a shorter adapter than I did.
1/8" NPT all female Tee.
1/8 male x 1/8 female 90* bend fitting.
Then a 1/8 male x 1/4" female (to accept the stock sender).

Ernan or anyone else, please correct me if it looks like I eyeballed the fittings wrong.

I got all my brass at Lowes if that's easier.

How does the factory sender come out? I'm not seeing any place to get a wrench on. Do you just use vise grips?


EDIT: N/M .... a search revealed that 1 1/16 is it. Now .... I hope I have that size. Stay tuned .... I may need more help, lol.

Oooooh. I just busted the stock sender in a million pieces. Do the local parts stores usually carry these? I don't have a cap fitting or I would just cap it off temporarily.

I use big a$$ pliers to get lose stock sender,
AutoZone have this sender in stock DURALAST pn# PS164 $6.87
AdvanceAutoParts have in stock GP Sorensen pn# OPS129 $7.24
Napa pn# MPE OP6683SB $7.09

They are under "OIL PRESSURE SWITCH"

Yeah, I just picked one up (GP). I also picked up a sender removal socket.

Got her done & everything is working perfect! After 4 trips to the parts store, I'm glad that is over. I have a bad tendency to "over-torque" things. And when you're working with fittings that are made in China .... guess what happens. The biggest problems were 1.) Chinese fittings breaking, 2.) stock sender breaking (probably made in China, lol), and 3.) adjusting everything so that the stock wiring would reach & have everything clear the oil filter.

Overall this is really easy, though. Thanks so much Ernan! And you too JT!


For anyone else doing (or wanting to do) this, if you put the car up on ramps and work from under the car, you do not have to remove the A/C & PS bracket. BTW, invest in an OP sending unit socket .... it will save you LOTS of time.
