Like someone else already said, I do think a Ford engine just sounds better in a fox, and to honest, when I see Mustang with a Chevy motor, the car/owner lose a few points in my book. I wouldn't go as far as to criticize anyone for doing it though, especially when he blows your doors off. I've owned more GMs than Fords; shoeboxes, F bodies, and sleds, and my Cobalt has a 2.2L, that was originally on Opel engine. Hot rods are hot rods.

I would give him hell for being completely unoriginal...Theres more Chevy motors in 32 Fords than there are Ford engines.
I think Im kind of a hypocrite though. I get all pissy when I see a Chevy lump in a Ford car, but if I had the time and money I would stick a Ford lump in a camaro just to piss off a few fanboys.

Then you gave more info that the car had weight removal and slicks etc, thats more acceptable. I even clarified that by saying if you had weight removal and slicks I might be more willing to agree. (however I still think you must have had some serious weight removal.)
If you do not provide all facts then I have every right to call BS. If you took that as being a liar it was not intended to be viewed that way.
Actually....I zip right on by when I see chevy powered hot rods. They're so common place. Now, when I see an actual Ford Powered Rod, I'll stop and take a peek.

This. I stop and talk these guys a lot. I especially love to see a dressed Flathead in one. I was up at an all-Ford show in Canada this weekend and talked to a guy with a Tudor that had a gorgeous, fuel injected 5.0 and another with a 37 Ford truck with a hopped up 429. I'll have pictures later.

I guess my feelings on the subject are because of this- When I was 15(1986) I worked my butt off to earn money to buy my first car. What I found was a 1970 fastback mustang, and man did I love that car. Kinda like your first girlfriend, ya know? I didn't have any brand loyalty notions at that time, just a love of my car.
Then, I drive it to school. There were a lot of Chevy guys with pretty cool cars like 454 SS chevelles, 69 Camaros, some hot Nova II's, and one or two Ford guys. Believe me, I caught a ton of crap about my p.o.s. Ford, found on road dead, etc.... It really got to me.
My best friend was two years older and taught me about engines, and how to make them run-well. I spent my free time in high school hot rodding that 351W and kicking the hell out of the haters. Do you know how good it feels to have someone with a 454 tell you your car is a pos before you bust their azz down the quarter?
And so began my love of the mustang, and this is why I'd never mix breeds.
*footnote* I have owned gm's.. trucks, f bodys, etc.... There's just a special place in my heart for the stang. Call me a fanboy if you want. I don't mind.

I had to jerk off the cable to get it to stop.
Anymore i really don't care whats under the hood, GM, FORD, MOPAR, it doesn't matter to me. With the economy and times changing it seems like people don't care about cars as much as they used to even 15 years ago. i know there are always going to be the diehard gear heads but as long as it gets them from point a to b and has a/c. Then with the automotive bailout of the big 3 i thought in 20 years we would be driving a Ford corvette or a Chevy mustang (blasphemy i know). As long as its built to drive i don't care whats under the hood as anyone who appreciates my car would probably think the same when they hear it drive. If someone wants to actually do the physical labor and put a GM under the hood then go ahead, where as kids now a days just wanna bolt on wheels and drive it fast no one appreciates the hours people put in their cars anymore. i guess maybe im just getting old.

As far as I am concerned, do what ever you want with your car. I am not here to tell anyone what is right or wrong since it is not my dime. The bottom line is a fast car is a fast car regardless of what is under the hood.
I'd like to see this sub forum, so threads like this get segregated away from the stuff i care to read about. Lump all the brand swap drama threads in one area. Sounds like a plan

Brand loyalty aside, mix breed stuff doesn't belong in the Fox sections of the board. I realize that there are people out there who want to do this kind of thing, and that's fine. Give them their own section of the board. If you look at the description for this part of the forum, it says "General discussion for the Fox 5.0 Liter Mustang from Ford."
By this logic all 351 and big block fod stuff should not be able to be discussed here either. I think we should keep it FOX talk, people post rediculous BS donks, and junk fox bodies in here, which is alot more offensive than a fast, clean, fox body with a poweplant that isnt a ford

i think they should just call it fox talk, and tell people, if you dont like it, dont click the link. Theres nowhere in the terms of service that says you cant talk or post pics about non ford powerplants. We have a tech section, and talk should be kept for builds, and other non technical info about fox body stuff. It will only add to the site.
Example. Some of the LS guys may figure out suspension tips for the track that can apply to any foxbody with a small block. So why shortchange ourselves on more good info? Thats not a rhetorical question.
That'll work if the moderators are willing (and able) to babysit each thread 24/7, because the subject attracts argumentative tards like over-sugared preschoolers to Legoland. Even making a dedicated forum for the subject doesn't completely extinguish them until they're all smoked out and blocked, but it does give people who are interested in the topic and its specific tech a place to discuss them without every thread getting derailed off to shortbusville.
Fair point, but in the case of suspension tech, it obviously does pertain directly to the Ford Fox Mustang. A thread on setting up the fuel rails on an LSX that just happens to be in a Fox doesn't really have any place in this section of the forum.
Check out the other way of seeing it- Chevy/Ford threads pop up few and far between around here. Guys who are knowledgeable with Chevy engines probably don't spend a lot of time in the Fox section, so those Chevy/Ford threads are missing out on some good information from the Chevy guys. But, if there was a "Mixed Breed" section, the Chevy guys might be more inclined to go there and offer up more information.
I just think a separate section of the boards is the best compromise that would appease the majority of people. The other benefit to that is you could police it with an iron fist, and any posts over there that start with "bastard swaps will burn in hell" could be deleted instantly, no questions asked. No fights, no hurt feelings, no bruised egos, just good conversation and straight tech.
