Build Thread My 1986 T-top Build - Lasting Memories

 Looks awesome. I can't wait to see the finished product. Sure you feel the same lol. I really like that color.
Thanks a lot Todd.

After seeing how the doors and fenders were in the sun, I'm really looking forward to seeing It sparkle. Here's an old picture of when I shot the fenders, I just love the look in the sun.

Why did you cover the firewall?
I had painted the engine bay once before when I was determined I wasn't going to smooth the engine bay:crazy:.

So it was still in good shape after smoothing the upper firewall, I just decided to leave it alone, it looks good.

I'll take a picture tomorrow with the masking paper off, the sun hits my booth in the mornings, so maybe I can get a good sun shot as well.

Great work man ! Your car is becoming truly amazing. My car looks like ish....kinda going for the rat rod thrown together look. Lies...I just don't have the time, skill, or money. I'll live through you guys....I'm satisfied with that....for now.

I'm kinda surprised you did shoot the quarters while you were at it.
Tomorrow Allen, there's an easy break point where it won't be seen that this is two different jobs.

I had time constraints tonight to, as my boss might put it "get the hell out of here!".

I will be shooting the rest of it tomorrow though!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana:

One banana for each month I think I might be off on my completion date!

But it's going to be so Purdy when it's done :)
Have you decided if you are going to spray over the por 15 yet? How many coats of clear will you use?

Thanks Chris.

I only use two coats of clear, the less material on the surface, the better.

Nah, the POR15 will be covered by dynamat, and carpeting. Who's going to see it. Besides, the POR15 looks decent and it provides the rust protection I really wanted.

I've been up for 30 min or so. But i always feel like I overslept by a few hours on the weekend compared to you guys. I get up at 6 am during the weekdays because I have to...I let my son wake me up on the weekends.

The car is looking real nice Dave.

Thanks man.

If I had to depend on my youngest boy to wake me up, I wouldn't be getting out of bed till noon!

I relish the idea of waking up at nine or so, but my stupid body is so adapted to getting up early that I can't sleep in past five now.

Besides, today I finally get to paint doby's body! Hard to sleep when I'm this excited.

I can't get in at work until 9:00 this morning, hopefully the sun will still be shining into my booth. If it is , I'll post a picture of the engine bay in the sunlight.
