Thing,... err Finger.......tell Chris what I think of his chrome bolt idea...

I couldn't find Mercury/Cyclone bolts :(

lol

I think this post would win the Caption contest :)

I'm here to tell all you tough guys, that there was to be no "glueing back together " of my finger.
For one thing, that's why they have doctors.
For another, I prefer not to wake up in a pool of blood on the floor after passing out from the failed attempt at finger glueing.

Says the guy who glued his engine together. The poor Gila Monster may or may not leave you in a pool of its blood while buzzards circle above you.

Glue is meant for metal wood, plastic, and paper.......NOT fingers.

Keeping on track.... Fenders,...Trunks, and tails....

I bolted the front fenders on. Managed NOT to fuc k up the paint, but they (or the doors) will need some adjusting;

Naturally,...you're not gonna see that. Suffice it to say that they are close,..but hang slightly outboard of the doors.
I Sanded, and buffed the snot out the trunk deck to try and get the junk that was in the paint, out of the paint.

I got more buffing to do. It also needs adjusting. The lift supports push the trunk back, and up,... the driver side edge hangs proud of the rear facade slightly, but for whatever reason,....the passenger side is all good. Small adjustment.

I put the tail lights on. I was thinking I was gonna black out the chrome trim that surrounds the lens, but am reconsidering just leaving them alone. I think the monster needs some bling in light of the total orange/black that it will be.

(Almost eerie that'll it'll probably be done in October,....just in time for orange and black)

he duck tail is painted black,..the splitter and the underside of the hood as well. The next time I mess with the car I'll bolt that stuff, and the hood in place,...and the car will be starting to look like a car.

Could you find me a vhs of Bullet while you're out- I loves me that 69 Mustang
I was fully planning on doing that,...right after I completely mis-identify an entire model run of one of the longest running body styles in automotive history.

It'll be a party of epic proportions,...Ya feel me bra?

That looks amazing. I must have missed when you moved the license plate from the tail panel to the bumper. It looks very good like that. Any plans for some sort of emblem or nameplate between the tail lights?

Edit: Never mind. I found the original post: http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-for...the-gila-monster.871263/page-118#post-8946342
Wow!....talk about "On a mission".

You went back 100 pages looking for what is supposed to go in place of the license plate.... You have more stamina than me that's for sure.

Fortunately,...I know where to look.

This would've been bolted into place as well,.but as with all things I build,...it's made out of steel. And despite the fact that I clear coated the raw, buffed off ribs,...they're rusting. So,...I gotta start over on that.

Oh My God!!!

It pains me to go back and look at what it was,...before it became.

What it "was".

What it became:

Everywhere,...There are pics like this that are sobering reminders of what I had to do to make the car happen.

It's no wonder I have one eye, broken hands, busted knees, and a limp.

The Monster has won,.....and I'm the battle damage.
