I swear you must've been inside my head when I suggested the foam mat for a certain person relocating cruise switches to an ashtray....

Its OK...I'm cool being part of the voice inside your head.....wish I could get myself to listen to my good ideas.

Wait...who's that in my head...nonono says the finger :nono: ...they'll be no Aussie parts under my hood...and I don't own a stinkin' cat... Now, I know why I keep having to do stuff over and over...

It's not the drinking Scott, that has nothing to do with it....

You cannot make that assumption..On Sooo many fronts.
Look real close at the pic right in front of the timing cover area....(You just gotta know that I'm real ashamed of this pic)
enginecompartment004sf5_zpss6jnhtjv.webp

You're thinkin' I aint using a timing cover,....You're thinkin' I was using a gilmer belt drive. Good job! You're right.

Now,....where's the point?

Isn't this engine similar to the belly button all the rest of you guys run?
R block'd 363/TFS heads/Carrillo rods/Ross pistons/Callies crank/CC solid roller cam/ AUSSIE BELT DRIVE?

Those guys make stuff for every engine ever made,....Point#1. Don't say you'll never have an Aussie part under your hood.
Point #2. The finger,..in certain situations does not always say no,.....Exhibit "A"
middle-finger-emoticon.webp

And lastly....

Point #3. Of all of the people that can get in your head....(think about this now).. Of all of the people that can get in your head, wouldn't you rather it be the one guy w/ the best Ideas, that has the coolest car, won't accept "less than" as a reference standard for his work, and......has the most resilient of cats?

Add "Do over till it's right" to your work ethic,....You'll never be unhappy w/ the outcome. Where in the Post Monster build comments do I say "I wish I had done it this way?" when I did stuff over and over the first time?

That'd be the Hood, the Gills, The dash, The paint (thanks Dave), The wheels, The trunk,..and lastly, The engine detail... What am I forgettin? Oh,...The tail lights,....the freakin tail lights...

Madmike1157 your car is the thing we all strive for, especially, " folks " that haven't even driven ours yet.

You know I'm a huge fan of your build...
You're part of the voice in my head that's striving for as close to perfection as I can get. If you can do what you've done then I know I can get my " run of the mill " turbo engine to drive.... See...the voice in my head made me change the word " motor " to " engine ".

Dave does some awesome work...and now he's the voice in my head that makes me want to restore stuff instead of replacing it or letting it look like $%%#.

You're always good for a good rant :stick: :hide:

Why set your sights so low? I've stated numerous times that my objective w/ regard to my work ethic is 80% of what most consider perfect. In real world terms for some folks,...that could be considered a hack. In the real world of the monster,... Only the Bondo Knows for sure....

Scott's car is perfection. As close to it as anyone can get anyway. A statement that testifies to the fact that you still have to have an eye for detail, and know what you're doing, even when you can afford to throw stupid money at a car that'll never be worth that much. That car is almost too nice to drive.

Of mine and his though,..it's no contest. While mine has a bunch of fab work that goes way off the charts,..it also will appeal to the few that want that goofy ass thing. Scotts car is a fox mustang lovers wet dream....Because of it's braod appeal, and outstanding build quality, His car will come way closer to his 60k investment if he ever sold it well before I'll ever recoup the 30k? that's in the Monster.

Daves car will also be amazing in it's own right. I'm thinking that when it's done it'll drive better than it did when it was new, and Certainly look better than it did when it was new. (as long as he keeps those stupid TRX wheels off of it) And because of all of the ingenuity w/ regard to the restoration, and salvaging stuff most would have thrown away and bought new,....do it for a fraction of what it would cost somebody less crafty.

How much more powerful is it to be able to say that?....A car that will for the most part rival most mega thousand dollar resto's that he did for...What is it now Dave?.....2500? Including the price of the car?
Plus whatever it costs to get the drivetrain going, and your stupid TRX wheels reconditioned and add new rubber of course.

Agreed- Scott's car is one of the top 5 Fox Body cars I've ever seen. There is another guy on a site who will not be named that also did a rotisserie build and his car is beyond sick. I'm sure everyone has seen it.... Google MSCHLITZKUS

madmike has built some truly amazing cars and his fabrication skills are second to none. Dave's car ( if he ever finishes the damn thing) is going to be incredible.

All deserve respect, admiration, and awe imo.

Wow! I haven't seen that one before. It's just gorgeous! Is there a thread here Mike?

Jeez Mike! I've just read the first page and can't believe the level of detail! I mean......WOW!

He's more over the end than Scott. Not that either is over the end.......:leaving:And not that i'm sayin that Scott's is second rate at all. His is well beyond me too.

I'm going to enjoy reading through the whole thing, thanks Mike. The head porting and polishing is just awe inspiring, then SMOOTHING THE UNDERCARRIAGE! Maybe this isn't the best thing for me to look through with it getting close to bringing the car home.:nonono:

Bright side is, he has a LOT more money than me. That will take care of a lot of those nice part issues....

Though this brings up a thought, I want to see Scott's plans he had for his rotisserie. @RacEoHolic330 , you still tuning in? I can't afford a shop rotisserie, how much did it cost you to build yours? With my boy having a car now, I find that I don't have to rush.

It also crashes my browser, and their mobile function isn't the best...

Corral ain't what it used to be

BUT holy crapes that car is incredible

Aparently he just picked this car up as the next project

NEXT PROJECT! So he's a fox junky then. I should have noticed how well the light reflected off of the valves...

Well................Uhm..............back down to mere mortal level now. It's almost laughable what i'm about to talk about. I'll start with a picture.
IMG_2853.webp

This is my original fan motor. After looking at that other thread I realize that I'm the poor white trash that you hear about periodically.

So, I went to Oreilly's to check out the motor they ordered from OKC. It was very wrong. So this evening I brought the above pictured motor to them. They cross referenced their database and said this was the motor for an '86. Uhhhh....whatever, can you get it for me? Yes, yes they can. Due to current "budget restraints", I declined till next payday (yes, the next payday that I'll be purchasing this hood and scoop)
IMG_2854.webp

Figures, its closer to Kona Blue and not beat to hell.......anyhow.

So, if I have till next wednesday, why not try tearing the motor down and seeing if I can make it work? It isn't seized, just m o v i n g really s l o w. Whatever, I'll tear it down tomorrow and see what I can do.

So, I won't be the super man of fox bodies these other guys are. And they DO deserve the recognition! Their rides are spectacular! I'll be known as the junk man, that's MISTER Sanford to you all! Do you hear that Martha?!....I'm coming Martha......

Maybe I'll polish the housing in respect to these guys we have been talking about. God knows I feel like polishing something after looking at their mustangs.

I'll post tomorrow if this works out.

BTW, what do you freaking think of that GT hood?! Big, badass score on my part! Woohoo!:banana::banana:
