What are you still on about with the computer???
Want one built? How about full sequential everything? To much?
What about a weatherproof one the size of an altoids can, has enough i/o to do everything you need... AND they can be tied together over canbus...... that means you can use as many as you need. One for ecu one for the trans, abs, blah blah blah. Affordable too.... only 400$

If you have to rewire the car (which should be done w/ every 30+ yr old car) why not just build it from scratch to allow for a future MSII/3 build? You see us talking about all of the stuff that we are doing, want to do, need to do to automate a process w/ our computers and of the three, that exchange here, I am by far the most schematically challenged of the three of us.

Yet, I built the whole original MS II by myself, and the thing started w/i minutes of dickin with the tune.

Considering that you intend to drive the car, and with the possibility of using the SC engine that you are considering, the ability to tune a Megasquirt dead on to what you want to do, or modify it to do something later (in my case) is right in front of you.

I've offered to build the basic kit for you, because that is the easy part (for me at least). The build instructions are my kind of instructions....they read: Solder this to that.

I'm pretty good with understanding electronic current flow paths,... It becomes a challenge when I have to understand a transistorized circuit

Something like this jugphck.

This is where steve comes in....(Without him,....I may as well put a "dizzy" and a carburetor on the car)

But you're a smart guy like me Dave,...You should be able to do this. I mean,..who else here had the wherewithal to take their upholstery apart, get out their little Suzy Homemaker sewing kit, and their paint gun,...and rebuild their interior back to new status w/ only some paint and some thread?

Dave, I've got ECU schematics for Super Coupes. All I need is the year for the car your stuff is coming out of. Seems they changed the pin outs every year.

I don't have anything prior to 86.... The information is out there on the great interweb though. Sure I could find info for ya.

BTW, this thread will be one year old tomorrow:nonono:.

Remember my dreams of how quickly this project would be roadworthy?

Now I feel like @RacEoHolic330 , so I still have four years to go, right? That being said means that I'm going to have to go completely nuts with the rest of this build.

Maybe by the time I'm done I'll have a really clean and organized garage like Scott?

I know it seems like forever since i've done anything meaningful in this thread. Be patient, LOTS of things are soon to be happening.

I found one last night.....(You wouldn't like it,...it was like drinking a dark chocolate reeses cup)

Old Horny Goat Chocolate Peanut Butter porter... It was so good, I sampled it three times
If my wife weren't deathly allergic to peanuts, I'd be all over that. It sounds great to me.:nice:

I CAN SEE THE HEAD LINES NOW
The wife of the famous star from the reality show The Davedacarpainter's Traveling Show died after kissing her drunken, passed out on the floor husband goodnight, a chocolate peanut butter beer bottle was found on the floor alongside the star, foul play is suspected.
Scientists baffled.
No comments from the Old Horny Goat.
Film at eleven.

Ok, so maybe, just MAYBE, I'll be able to get the supercoupe drivetrain in about a week.

An unusual amount of irregular money LEGALLY obtained might just pay for the supercoupe drivetrain.

Steve? @a91what , what should I be scavenging out of the T-bird?

Are you using your block or the entire engine from the supercoupe?

I would snag the harness for the engine as well and the ecu get the sensors mounted on the firewall... not sure if you want to do the emissions stuff.. the ecu will need a tune to make the check engine light go away.

Imagine doing a 5.0 swap into a 2.3 it will be about the same.

Small update, the yard owner says he'll finally be at the yard friday. If nothing else, I'll get a good look at it and take some pictures.

Personally everything. I would ask him how much for the whole car on the contingent that you'll let him scrap the remaining.

Harness/Computer
Drivetrain
IRS
Maybe see if there are one off supercoupe things

Like emblems and stuff to accent your build.

Ok, got to the yard and cleaned out my mustang of all the :poo:that was in the interior.

While there, the yard owner showed me a few of his supercoupes. He narrowed it down to the one he'll part out for me.

I only got one picture, and that's of the engine bay. The mosquitoes were dining on me pretty heavily, so I didn't spend the time there that I originally wanted.

Oh well, here's the donor.

He hasn't quoted me a price yet, but I'm sure he will be more than fair.

Additional info: I'm not sure of the year of the t-bird. By body style and trim, it's at least a '92, but I don't think a '94 or '95.

It may take me two or three trips to get it all. I want to be very methodical about plucking that engine. I'll clean out that engine bay completely just to play it safe.

I'm kind of excited, things will start happening again here in about a week. I intend to spend quite a bit of time on the engine.

I really (yes....really) will be moving Roby from the yard too. That's just a matter of shifting stuff around from my old storage unit to my new larger one. That's where he'll be going for a bit of time while I take care of the drivetrain.
