Ok took the advice and just went a little at a time instead of being a tagger and going heavy. Came out much better and I still have plenty in the can to touch it up and blend once I get the car back and put this in!!

It looks good but like me you have opened Pandora's box.

My console looked great when I painted it. Which made my dash look like crap. So I replaced the dask pad and repainted the dash. That made the door cards look like crap. So I bought new arm rest pads and the map pocket deletes and repainted them. The plus side is my interior looks amazing now.

Ha yeah guess we will see my interior is pretty clean, minus the door pads and the door sill plates which are beat. Already planned on buying new pads and plates. The panels other wise are in good shape and I took those map pockets off years ago and cleaned it all up nicely, never cared for those. Just hoping it all matches and blends well together

This is too little too late, but your previous attempt failed because you must've painted on a very high humidity day. The blotches come as a result of that. It's called blush, and is a side effect when using lacquer paint in high humidity. The process you used is what you have to do....slow down, and give each coat a chance to dry before adding another.

Ok so installed the center console, cup holder is cool, didn’t have anything else to try with so grabbed some beers out of the garage beer fridge. So not sure how to get it to match better? It’s there but not really, looked good out of the car but compared to the original plastics it not matched up perfectly. Doesn’t have that glossy pop either, granted I had wiped down the car with some cleaner. I also tried a small area on the center console with some of the cleaner shine stuff and I felt like it was rubbing the dye off, anyone else had this issue? Thinking I might buy a can of the Napa red and respray it. Do I need to do anything to it if I do or can I just spray on top of what I already sprayed.

I dunno. Looks pretty damn close from what I can see.

I would assume you can overspray it with new color. Just wash it with soap/water to remove and grease/oils from handling first.

They are, but they sit fairly low so I've never had an issue. Been ripping around all summer with a cup of coffee in one and haven't had a hit yet.

Of course, now I'm lowering my seating position a few inches....so that might change

Are those cup holders in line with the drivers right arm when ripping through the gears on a T5?
I drove around the other day with two small water bottles and they annoyed me bc they weren’t all that secure and kept tumbling around in the holders and I with out noticing went back to the original cup holder jam move in between the e brake and seat ha ha. Later on I tried it with a bang energy since I don’t do coffee and it was fine.

I drove with a water bottle (typical Poland spring plastic bottle) once and noticed the same thing. I was going to try and locate a foam ring insert to take care of that. Since that cup holder is removable, I thought about proposeing to LMR to offer a few different inserts to accommodate different cup sizes and such so an owner can pick and choose.

I also heard on the IG information network a rumor that a company is developing their own cupholder insert that has power ports already installed as well and comes molded in various OEM colors. I'm waiting to see what that looks like.

Looks good, but I’m with you in that it just doesn’t match. The OE color is just, more red, for lack of a better description. The LMR color looks like it has more brown in it. I’ve been debating trying the Napa as well.

I think I’m gonna buy a can off eBay and give it a try. What could it hurt???

Have you heard anymore on this? LMR has thiers at a pretty decent discount right now, but a piece I wouldn't need to paint would be better.
