Progress Thread 88 Gt T-top- Project problem child

So, something awesome happened.

After speaking to the guy who may paint my car, he urged me to let my paint supplier know what happened. So I sent them an email, told them what happened , that I believed it was some kind of user error but felt they should know. They asked a few simple questions and sent me a full refund for all the paint I purchased. So im still out the time and heartache, but I now have a huge leg up in getting it painted . Project pain in the butt is back on track!

Today I reinstalled the ac lines, hooked up the cruise, and tightened the hood henges and will mount the hood once I have a helper.

Gonna try to tackle the headliner tomorrow.

That’s great Bill!

It would have to be the material at fault. It’s great they owned up to it.

Sucks that you spent all that time though.

Maybe you can paint your wife’s car now:p

I think I’m on a break from painting for while.

I did get thw
Hood tossed on. Gotta adjust the mess outta it though :

Got all the under the dash plastics installed , hood prop, last of the fender bolts, upper bumper mounts and started adjusting the fenders and hood. Feels good, I’m down to 2 small boxes of parts and one pile of large stuff. It’s almost a real car lol

Pretty sure I’m gonna have to use shims in the passenger side fender, it’s sitting kinda low.

Anyone know if the fender bolt inside the door jamb can be used to raise the fender up slightly? I’m about 3/8 a inch low I think.

It’s funny the little things that bring me back to loving this car. I had been fighting the passenger door sticking out on the top and I thought it was the weather strip, nope, adjuster the striker down a hair and my body line is great again.

Only 2-3 things left to do and it’ll be ready for Monday. The car hauler is reserved, and I have an appointment to get the alignment done then off to the body shop. I’ll be spamming pictures of the process as it goes.

Tomorrow I’ll start getting all the trim ready so I can slap it together once it’s back.

Then it’s door panels and removing the rest of the gold off the front wheels and I’ll be basically ready to rock minus some details

I'm liking the gold wheels on your black car. I would've thought I'd like the silver or gray ones but I'm digging the gold.

I’ll have more to share in the morning. They were busy when I dropped it off, I’ll be doing the walk around and what not first thing. We have a rough estimate for now that’ll be honed in.
