JCBeaver's 1993 GT Coyote Swap "The Never-Ending Project"

Update:

Buttoned up the 2.1L KB last weekend. Now I'm waiting on the pulley wrench from TPS so I can swap in the 10# pulley.

Currently, I cant keep the car running due to :poo:ty tune I have in my ECU :( I have a local MS3 expert coming this Saturday to help dial this car in. Cant wait!

Just put in a new sunroof latch assembly from LMR. I had all the hardware intact, but my gaskets were shot and LMR wants like $80+ for the new hardware+gaskets on top of the $65 latch assembly. Considering I had all of the hardware intact minus two small common bolts - I saved money by ordering 1/8" rubber sheet, $7.99 off Amazon, which I used to cut out the new sunroof hardware gaskets.

Very happy with how it all turned out! Now my sunroof latch open and closes perfectly. The old latch handle was worn out and the guide on one side was broken so I couldn't keep the sunroof secure while open.

Note: The new latch assembly and hardware was not 100% bolt on. I had to tap 2 retaining pin hardware for the latch handle so I can fit in the factory stopper screws to keep it from spinning any further after setting it up. Also had to drill out the guide holes into the sides of the handle so the pins would go in further and align with the bolt hole on the factory sunroof. After those small modifications, everything went on together perfectly.

See how nice Dupli Color Trim Black paint came out too!

I need some help here if anyone knows the answer to this, please do let me know!

I am looking for a center cap that will fit on my MOMO steering wheel. For some reason I am unable to figure out what is going to fit and whatnot. I bought a custom steering cap from a guy in UK that is supposed to fit on this steering wheel, but it didnt so I am not sure what to do. I will try to locate the cap and post pics of it. It had metal bands on back thats supposed to snap into the center of the steering wheel but it was not the case for me. I was looking for Ford or Mustang related cap.. Not MOMO universal caps which wont look right in my fox.

Is it just a monte carlo wheel?

edit:

Also, I don't recognize that hub adapter. I think the real adapter accepts the horn button (my car is on my lift and my kids are sleeping, so I can't look now).

If you look at all the pics in that ad, if I remember correctly the horn button snaps into the silver ring, not the wheel itself.
I could be wrong, but I think that's what I did. Been a while.

Drove the car today and looked, the lip on the silver ring comes up through the steering wheel and that's what the horn actually snaps into.
I can't tell in your pic, but it looks like you don't have it.

So I’m confused on where you tap in for the blowzilla tubing or are you not running it that way? I know the blowzilla has the port on the side of the intake on the drivers side, and the one on the front and the tubing comes around to meet up for the bypass valve. Do you have to self tap the inlet and make that port yourself?

@Noobz347 @FoxMustangLvr do you guys know? Found this one again, guy wants 2500 but doesn’t want to sell his flowzilla inlet anymore. Tried to see if tps would sell me one but he said he wouldn’t or doesn’t want to part out.

Just saw this and am running out the door. Are you talking about all of the bypass-plumbing?

If the OP has the pressurized manifold for the Flowzilla inlet but has the Blowzilla inlet, then I think it will cause some fitment issues.

Going off of memory, and [yes] it's been a while, the bosses on the pressurized manifold do not line up with the bosses on the inlet if they are mismatched. The Flowzilla version is taller where it mates to the blower and lacks the by-pass inlet port.

I recommend you pass. There's too much history on that thing and too much potential for missing or miss-matched parts.

Why wouldn't he want to sell the inlet unless he already found a sucker to pay 5 times what it's worth? :O_o:

He gonna make a bong from it?
Ha yeah idk maybe bc it’s an old dynotech flowzilla inlet and he wants it as a treasure. What I was asking was on these units from TPS that he bought and had pictured/installed now. The side of the manifold where the blowzilla tubing would fit facing the drivers side tower I don’t see any fittings etc so I was wondering if that’s just how these came and that one had to tap the manifold themselves. Maybe I’m just not seeing it?? I see the fittings on the front facing towards the radiator though.

If it doesn't have the bypass fitting on the end, it cannot be Blowzilla.

It has to be either

A: The manifold that come with the Flowzilla inlet (it has the bypass cut into it right where the end of the Flowzilla inlet matches up)

or

B: The manifold off of the 1.5 or 1.7 liter kits that had no bypass. These are not Blowzilla kits. All of the Blowzilla kits were either 2.1 or 2.2 LIter.

This is a Blowzilla:

This is [not] a Blowzilla:

I would hazard to guess that this is one of the previously mentioned 1.5 or 1.7 liter kits.

If it were a Flowzilla/Blowzilla, the piping would be gone and the butterfly valve operated by the vacuum diaphragm would be located here:

Well damn that sucks, bc I know he stated he got this from TPS as a blowzilla and I’ve been tempted to order one myself since I talked to the guy Mike yesterday and he said he still had some in stock, as far blowzilla with the option to get a flowzilla inlet as well, I also asked him why he the owner Mike hasn’t updated the website photos to the new blowers he has in stock vs the old 90s pics from KB and MM&FF, didn’t really give me an answer. Sorry @JCBeaver not trying to hi jack your thread man your car looks great.

I couldn't tell you anything about the "TPS" blowers. I haven't see one in person. The image you posted just above are def images of the old blower.

Top: Blowzilla
Bottom Left: Blowzilla
Bottom two from the right: Blowzilla/Flowzilla
Bottom right: A comparison between Blowzilla with and without Flowzilla inlet and also black and chrome.

Gotcha man that one pictured is the one he picked up from TPS as a blowzilla. But the pics on their site are what I sent with the two different models from KBs old webpage. Oh well maybe I won’t be ordering from them then if this isn’t what it’s suppose to be

I wonder how that thing acts with no bypass

It wouldn't take much for that blower to make enough boost to give a closed throttle body a good reason to come apart.

Here's an old image of the Flowzilla:

1567736682051.png

You can see the bypass clearly. Notice that there's no boss or holes on the driver side of the plenum. I had to clearance a good bit of the firewall seam to get this all stuffed in there. I upgraded from Flowzilla so [both] manifolds had to be changed. Without changing anything else, this was worth a difference of about 3 psi whenever the bypass valve closed. It was noticeable, to say the least. Peak HP wise? Meh... maybe a little.

Here is the Blowzilla:
1567736998957.png

Most of the Blowzilla kits were 2.2L until the Flowzilla kits went out and they all went to 2.1L. It's difficult to see in pictures but the portion of the pressurized manifold that goes over the top of the blower is taller on the Flowzilla (more volume).

You can see what a PITA it would be to convert from one to the other without having both manifolds.

As for the TPS kit well... I couldn't say except that is either incomplete or not 2.x liter? What displacement do they say it is?
