Hi, I own a 2016 mustang 2.3 eco boost and the short drop function of the drivers seat window isn’t working. It doesn’t drop when I open the door and I guess that’s y it’s really hard for me to close the door entirely. After I closed the door the window doesn’t work. It stays up and doesn’t go down. I tried holding the window switch 2 seconds up n down but it still doesn’t work. I guess there’s a gap even after I successfully closed the door n the open door alert is off cos I can hear the exterior noises while I m driving. Is there any way I can fix the problem myself? Thanks a lot

Ok...first. the window motor tells the computer how far up or down the window is. If the window motor is bad auto up and down won't work. Take the door panel off and check all connections.

Does your dash show the drivers door open symbol. That signal comes from the door latch itself and they do go bad. If it's the door latch the window tends to stay cracked at it's open setting and won't close all the way.

My opinion from your description is that the window motor is bad. Not hard to replace. After changing the window motor do the window relearn . Drivers side first then passenger side.

Thank u so much for your reply. The door open symbol does not show up on my dash. So I guess it should be the window motor. I’ll have it checked out.
Thanks again!
