Progress Thread My centrifugal ppl, how’s this deal?

Alrighty well I pulled the trigger and since I was down in my home town I picked this bad boy up. It’s out of a 93 f250 if I remember correctly, been to the machine shop and cleaned up and bored .40 over, picked up this HF stand and luckily I get deep in those squats and I just squatted this baby up. This is going to be a slow project. I’ll be collecting parts for it here and there when I find gold deals or just buy them etc, as the original 302 is still running just fine. It was a good deal I couldn’t pass on and if I decide to go another way aka 363 dart then i know I can flip this block no problem and get my money back or even more. What I’m thinking is 408 stroker kit, I wish I didn’t have to get rid of my current long tubes but I guess I’d have to get swap headers. More than likely get a TFS 351 intake so I’d shelve my GT40 or sell it idk that’s a long time from now. I would probably run my current 60lb injectors, and whatever else I could use off the current motor. I’m not sure about my current tfs 190s but if I can run them and get them ported etc to flow even better I will VS having to go up to 205s. I’m trying to figure all this compression ratio crap out and what would be ideal for a street car. I do still plan to have a supercharger on it. Again it’s a ideas and plans currently nothing absolute and no time frame. I just figured I couldn’t pass on the block as it was basically free and like I said if I change my mind well I am sure I can sell it and make some cash.

Just read through last few pages! Glad you’re up and running again!
Every time I see that floor, I start getting the itch to do mine! Car and garage look great!!

Thanks my dude appreciate that. Get on it! It’s not that hard, won’t regret it, and really turns the garage into something a little extra special

Found these local, need a little work but what’s your all’s options who have these seats or sat in them. I have some 2017s in currently but can get these for 300 but think he will do 250. Would like to keep the black but do a scarlet red suede middle. Recaros are just hard to find.

You need to really love those seats to run them. If you are on the fence, dont drop $1k+ on buying and refinishing them. I was going to run those exact same seats, but I wasn’t in love with them ebough to do it.

if you want Recaros, look overseas. Guys are shipping them in from Asia where they are in practically everything out there.

Also I think I may have found the design I want. Now just need to save some cash and hope the guy from FB recaroseatsforsale page can make these happen in the scarlet red though.

I've purchased a few used s/c over the years , only got burnt 1 time.
You can feel for signs of a bad bearing, notchy feeling or grumbling when spun.
Look for signs of wear or damage to the impeller or housing, not much else you can do with it off the car.

Never owned a Procharger but I have replaced bearings on a couple of different Vortechs,
it was easier than I imagined.

Cool he sent me videos of it running on the car. It’s sounds good but I might just be mesmerized by that whine and not hearing something noticeable. Maybe the only thing that gets me is the age in use

I'd check with procharger and see how much it would cost to have the head rebuilt. After alm those years it may be a good thing to do...and a way to bring that price down a smidgen. I wouldn't buy it unless it was cheap enough to still be a grand cheaper after rebuild than a new unit. Installed a used Procharger in a new edge 04 mustang for a customer. I had to get a bunch of missing hardware from Procharger. She still came out on top...I think she paid 1500 for it. The supercharger worked great and looked weathered. She rolled the dice and didn't want it rebuilt. Its still working 4 years later.

My first 2 blowers were used . I had a old a trim from the early 90s that was flawless and went on another car after mine . I had serial number 36 s trim after that and it was flawless until I bought my new ysi .

id probably run it . The d1sc was a fairly reliable unit As well

That’s the unit I had looked into, well actually the newer version P1 or D1x, again it seems legit. Idk how well the intercooler is holding up and the installation parts. I usually like new parts but a new units is easily double the asking price for this one and this one seems reasonable plus obo so maybe I could squeeze it a little cheaper, bc id want to clean up the unit and have it powder coated etc. A part of me says buy it! Another part of me says to buy a brand new unit.
