0n3 turbo kit, any good?

I’ve been looking at power adders for my 86 GT that is .30 over and has gt40 heads, intake, 24# injectors, comp cam, 1.6 roller rockers, underdrive pulleys, 70mm accufab throttle body. I would like to go turbo, but the only affordable out of box kits are the on3 kits. What is everyone’s opinion?

Biggest first hand advice I could give is buy a tial wastegate and BOV for the kit . Be careful with wrapping because it will keep the moisture in and rot the manifolds over time time . Watch the welds we had the wastegate flange actually break off a kit years ago . Not a bad entry level kit though . Some time ago they did have some fitment issues with piping having to be cut and re worked but i haven’t seen much of that lately

Thanks for the advice!

Micro is a good entry level unit, I suggest the efisource goldbox for the fox if you are going to spend any money on an ECU or a stinger PIMPXS.

I have tuned lots of these On3 kits in mustangs, they do just fine but some people do have issues with the the wastegate as mentioned above. You can take an explorer longblock, cam it and make 500hp easily.

I run On3 and have no complaints about their kit. Its been working for a couple years. I do want to order a spare hot side because I know they'll be hard to find or more expensive in the next couple years.

It's a good kit,but be aware the $1500 is the buy in only. You'll have that + in the extra parts you have to buy to make it work. Injectors, aftermarket ecu+tune, possible wastegate uprgrades, etc. The fitment of the kit was pretty good,:poo:ty install instructions but there's several Youtube videos to access.

My son installed one on a 302 v8 86 T Bird (Fox body). He is "anneal", that is every thing has to fit/look proper. Your going to have to make brackets, modify some parts but all in all the kit is a good starting place, you couldn't make a lot of the included parts..... He went with the Holly Ford X kit for an ecu. I've posted pictures of his work somewhere?, you would think it came on the car . ... It starts and runs but he is self employed and out of $$$$ thanks to the COVID 19. There are a few things in the kit that could be improved in the kit that could fit better but, I don't think it's been done?

I really want to put the ON3 kit on my bone stock 93 LX, but I’m having a hard time in central Texas finding a reputable shop to do the install.

I called HPP racing yesterday and the guy quoted $6200 for the kit, install, and tune. That to me seems astronomical. He said the install would take roughly 20 hours and their shop rate was $120 an hour. I was thinking parts aside for labor it would be somewhere between $1000-$1500.

If anyone has any guidance or advice it would be greatly appreciated. Sorry OP not trying to hijack your thread!

Check out my build thread, lot's of pics and info there. Honestly, the most time consuming part was getting the front bumper to fit around the intercooler. I could do the install in 2 days now that I've done it twice.
