I picked this car up cheap. Me and a friend actually went in on it together. It's a 92 GT, wild strawberry, 5 speed, runs good, no rust but here is the kicker. Called DMV and there are $6600 owed in back taxes and outstanding violations that need to be cleared. The title is also in limbo somewhere...Bummer.........so, it is now a parts car.

Yeah, I will make money without a doubt. It may take a while though...our market here in Hawaii is very narrow and shipping small stuff is fine, but bigger stuff no way. I recently sold some rear quarters panel plastics..the small convertible ones and eventually I just gave them to the buyer as shipping was $260!!!!!!!!!!! It weighed 24 lbs.

You just Mail the registration form to Vermont and they mail you a plate and registration in the mail. Easy peasy. Not much effort really and they’re pretty quick.
Hawaii to Vermont is way more effort than I would be willing to invest in. I'm ok with it. Complete 5 speed swap parts.
See if you could do a bonded title and VT registration, at least then it's worth a lot more.

Hawaii has you by the short hairs on this
Folks live in Maui and nephew a cop there
You have no recourse
Sell it or pay, possibly get a lawyer
Here in Utah they charge you for 2 years on a purchase like yours
There is a saying in Hawaii
If there is a good way to do something Hawaii state will do the opposite

I will save everyone the typing. No matter where it got registered you have 30 days to transfer your car to Hawaii plates from out of state plates, and when you do they require your shipping papers proving you shipped the car from another state to Hawaii. No mail in registration would work. I have lived here 35 years and know the system well. Even if registered in another state the second I would try to switch it to Hawaii plates again the vin gets input and all the alarms would go off on back taxes and outstanding violations. Thanks for th suggestions, I do appreciate it but Hawaii is a different kind of place.

Anyone need any parts? :D

WHat do you defrost out there? :rlaugh:

Actually, your situation is how i go my black interior. Found a 1990 sitting in a yard. Engine was a mess, car didn't run, but it had a clean black interior and clean pony wheels. Buddy and I split the car for $250 each to buy it, plus the tow home. (this was back around 2000 when junk Foxes were sub-$1K). I put the interior in my car, buddy put the pony wheels on his 1989 notch and we parted the car out for a few thousand bucks.
