Went ahead and pulled the trigger on a set of 18x9/18x10 wheels in gunmetal grey. The pic I found below was exactly what I was looking for, that’s a tuxedo black fox just like mine.

I’m hoping I can get the 18x10s to fit in the rear with no problems. I currently run 17x9s with 275s and don’t have any rubbing. I’m going to run 275s on the 18x10s as well so I’m hoping all I have to do is flip the quad shock and hammer the inner fender liner, my fender is already rolled so I’m good there. I’d like to be able to keep the quad shock on if I can.

Excellent choice! It will look great. Those are the wheels I want once I get through everything else I want to do lol

Dump the bandaid quad shocks and get some good lower control arms with new stock uppers and change the bushings on the rear end for the uppers.
Yea man I already ordered some Maximum Motorsport sport adjustable RLCA’s with the stock style uppers they sell and all the new bushings. So I should be ok if I have to end up removing the quads. I would just prefer if it works out where I can still have the quad shocks and have them there like factory

Does anyone know what tire sizes look and fit the best with the 18x9/18x10 setup?
Because of loose production tolerances, it’s hard for anyone to be 100% sure what will fit your specific car. Mods also make a big difference in how much room you have for wider wheels and tires. I highly recommend going to www.willtheyfit.com and comparing your new setup options to your existing setup. I used info from that site, tape, and flexible tubing to mock-up the 315-square setup on my SN95 Mustangs. That setup does not fit on all SN95 Mustangs.

Keep in mind that, despite being listed as the same size, different brands of tires can vary in size. Look at the specs for the tires you’re considering on Tire Rack. Find the Rim Width Range & the Measuring Rim Width. The MRW will let you know if the tire you want will be pinched or stretched on your wheels. There are advantages and disadvantages to pinching or stretching. You should also compare the Overall Tire Diameter to the tires you have now.

In general, a 255 is a good size for a 9” wheel & a 285 is a good size for a 10” wheel. That doesn’t mean they will fit your Fox.

It’s worth mentioning that staggered wheels and tires will add understeer. If you haven’t made other mods to compensate for the added understeer, it’s something to be aware of if you plan on using the car for performance driving.

With the Sports, you may still need the quads.

I still run my quad shocks even with MM LCA's and new upper arms. Still had wheel hop.

If you can run them without tire clearance being an issue, no reason to remove them.

I tossed the quads on tje Coupe the minute I put the MM controls arms and Koni’s on. Zero hop but the pinion angle was spot on which plays a part in wheel hop. Another thing is a quality damper. If you can run adjustable dampers you can dial them in and eliminate it.

I run Griggs lowers and Global West uppers with adjustable Koni’s on the T-Bird and zero hop.

This is with street tires and drag radials.

Double check the holes where the control arms mount as they should not be oblonged or oversized. If they are that will need to be addressed.

A stiff chassis also helps so full length sub frames and welding out the lower control arm torque boxes are good ideas.

Yeah i've gone over all that. Checked pinion angle and all that fun stuff. Bilstiens, all new bushings, etc etc. Still had the hoppity. Put the quads back on and it went away.

Can I run a fatter sidewall on the rear tire or should I stick with around the same? I plan on doing 275/40 in the rear, and 255/35 in the front. Cause I think a little more meat in the back would look cool. But I’m not sure if this will be too much of a difference in tire diameter, and cause issues or look weird. Let me know what you guys think…

Below I’ve attached the tire sizes available and also the size difference for that setup I mentioned with the front and rear.
