G-Force and Tremec Transmissions for a 70 Mustang?

Anyone have expierence with G-Force transmissions? Thinking of using my T-5 case and use the G-Force internals for the 70 Mach which will have a 393 stroker pushing around 450 - 500 HP. I know the Tremec 500 and 600 are out, but am worried about the fit. I don't want to cut the tunnel and I...

I am in the middle of restoring my '70 Mach in my garage. I am learning allot and you will feel good when you are done and you can say you did all the work. The one part that I will not do is the color paint. Do all the body work and priming in the garage. Find a paint booth in your area...

Received Two Different Answers From Manufactures on 393 Stroker

Your right, 450 HP will be more than enough. I just put out a number. If I can make a solid street 450 HP street engine with the 185's and RPM, I will be happy. I have just heard so much about the 393 needing the extra air due to the extra cubes. I don't want to starve the engine.

Received Two Different Answers From Manufactures on 393 Stroker

I am saying I don't need to build a high revving engine because I am building the engine to run on the street. If the 393 needs the 205's and Victor Jr. to run at it's full potential, then that is what I will do. I just don't want you guys to think I want to build a oval track high revving...

Received Two Different Answers From Manufactures on 393 Stroker

I contacted the AFR and SCAT technical service guys and asked which combo to use for my 393 stroker. The options were AFR 205's and Vic Jr. intake or AFR 185's and RPM intake. I explained that the car was a 70 Mach and it would be used mainly for the streetand a weekend cruiser. The AFR guy...

    Max RPM For Street?

What makes you think I will have first gear traction issues? Explain your statement, don't keep me wondering.

    Max RPM For Street?

The car will not be on the freeway that much and it will not be a daily driver, just weekend fun. It will most likely have newer model seats and floor board and door insulation. I hope the 3.89's are okay because they have been installed. I just need to pick my cam, intake, and heads. I know...

    Max RPM For Street?

What is normally the max RPM that you would run on the street if you had 3.89 gears and around a 26.5" rear tire? I am trying to build my 393 stroker engine and would like to know what RPM range is normally used. I want to size the engine correctly and not run out of my power band.

Is This A Good 393 Stroker Combo?

Comp Cams for the camshaft. What is all involved by using the new TKO tranny in a '70 Mustang? How much harder is it to make fit over a T-5? If I use all G-Force internals, you don't think it can handle the torque? I wanted to go G-Force since I have a core and it fits without cutting the...

Can't you get the same polishing effect from grinding compound from Eastwood? Atleast the finish would stay. How hard is it to polish an intake yourself? Anyone done it?

    393 Stroker Crankshaft Alloy Weight?

I am stroking my 351w to a 393 and wondered if selecting a lighter crankshaft and rods would make any difference in HP. I am not building a high revving engine so I think the answer is no. The car is for the street and I am thinking about going with AFR 205's, custom grind Comp Cam, and a Vic...

    351w Rod Pins?

What is the difference and benefits/cons between bushed (floating) fit pins and press fit pins on 351w rods? What does this actually mean and what would be preferred on a 393 stroker?

Port Matching Heads and Intake Manifold

What is the secret to a good port match between an intake and cylinder heads? I have done this using gaskets but have been told doing it that way is not always exact. I have heard to bolt together the parts and use a vacuum cleaner to suck air thru the exhaust ports and spray paint into the...

    Aluminum or Iron Heads???

So what you are saying is that because of the added cubes of the 393, the loss of low end torque by using the AFR 205's will not be noticed? Can anyone explain why? I also know with the 205's, custom headers will be needed due to the location of the exhaust ports. This is not really a problem...

    Aluminum or Iron Heads???

So AFR 205's would be the better fit with the 393? I have been round and round on which to use and still don't know. I don't want to loose my bottom end torque. I also need to pick a intake manifold. Don't you also need special headers for the 205's due to the port locations being different...
