Progress Thread “Rising from Ashes 2” 95 Saleen S-351 build

Maybe I missed it but what's the final paint color going to be ?
It was originally ford black and being an S-351...it’s going back black but I’m going to use straight black toner so it will be look deeper and blacker. Most wont notice a difference in the two but I will.

That's what was done when my '95 was repainted. You can really tell the difference when you see them side by side.

Yep, only way to redo black unless you have to match factory paint. The factory color has several other colors that make it up including brown which is a waste. Just may way of improving the car but staying true to the original S-351

Let the engine bay begin. Got to make sure every panel is coated in Direct to metal primer before the welding starts

Your work is beautiful, course you don’t need me to tell you that I’m sure.
I wish you’d elaborate more, but clearly you’ve got too much going on Here to waste time on non-essential blather.

I guess I’ll have to tote that burden...

Thanks. I work 75-85 hours a week at my shop and honestly I could easily float 10-15 build threads at once with all the cars we do but unfortunately I do well to grab 5 min a day to update the 2 I have on here. But I’ll try to elaborate as much as I can

Speaking of that other one needing assembled... I’m boycotting the Saleen until the Saphhire Cobra is done! Well, maybe not, but damn it.

Looks good man! Maybe you can help me clear up a bit of confusion, is this progress current like you just did all that work in the last couple of days or this is all done and you just have time to update this thread a little ever few days? I remember you said you were working on it for a customer then took it over when his money dried up so I'm confused on what was done for him and what you've elected to do on your own.

Thanks. This is all past work when my customer owned it. But it’s not far from the time I bought it and started the work back as my car. Doesn’t matter tho. I was building it the way I would for myself. That’s what my customer wanted.
