Installing 2000 8.8 in 82 gt need info on backspacing of rims and what size that will fit this application ---------Thanks a lot!------------sheets55

As long as the 2000 8.8 is the same length as the 86-93 8.8's then the tire of choice would be a 15x8 inch with a 5.5 inch backspace.

I would try to stick with a 94-98 Axle Assembly as it is wider than Stock but not too wide to create Wheel and Tire Issues that the 2000 will cause you.

1999 and newer axles cause major wheel and tire issues. You will need close to a 7 inch b.s. good luck on finding wheels
