$4,100
$2,000 for parts???

I would say $500-$600 for cams
Labor - $500 for port(varies - no sense in buying a new set when all you have to do is have yours ported. Same heads),$500 - cam install
Tune - $600
I would say more along the lines of $2,200-$2,500

That's if he can afford to have his car "down" for the time being. If not, then the first quote is appropriate.

Personally, I'm a handling guy. You may have more HP than me, but you definately won't catch me when the road isn't straight.

Do yourself a favor and get some new shocks/struts and a GOOD set of LCA's. "Good" means one without urethane on both ends. The stock shocks/struts were made for comfort, not handling. I'm surprised that after 15k miles they aren't shot from the extra compression they're seeing.

Also, do the SFC's, and get some full length ones.

Cost versus price versus performance, these guys can't be beat: LINK

Good luck.

So lets look at the cost to HP ratio here:

$2000 for heads/cams= estimated 60-70 whp ($33 for 1 whp)

$2500 for a used blower setup= AT LEAST 130 whp ($19 for 1 whp)

blowers FTW

Yeah, but the operative word is USED blower..... I know there are good deals out there, but buying a used blower can be risky and costly. You're comparing new parts to a used blower. Depending on the blower, he may pay at least $3500+.

I've read horror stories from guys getting hosed by buying used blowers. Unless I knew the guy who was selling it, I wouldn't buy it. Like I stated, there are honest guys out there who are stand up guys. But then you have those who will take you for a ride and pull a Houdini on you. But if you can come across a sweet deal on a SC for $2,500, then you have bucked the system....

Sure it's a risk, but a supercharger can easily be rebuilt for a few hundred dollars. I like to gamble, what can I say

I would do LT's, Cams, and a set of weld-in SFC's. Labor at my shop is around $620 for a cam set install. Keep that in mind. It's not going to be cheap anywhere. BUT, if you dont feel comfortable with the workings of the 4.6 DO NOT attempt a shade tree mechanic install. In the end it will cost you much more if you mess up.

130 rwhp from a blower on his car? You must be factoring that on a large amount of boost. More then I would run on a DD.
