Well today I got a phone call from my friend at Percival telling me to come check out the 05's.......so I did. They got 5 in, and 3 were sold by the time i got there. I ended up getting a short lil cruise in a black GT.....and i'm still drooling. Even the V6 was impressive.....what else can I say lol, check out the pics....

Sorry about the giddy looks on my face, I was laughing like a lil girl the entire time.

(silver one is V6, black one is GT)

That's what I was thinking, but I thought maybe it was just the camera angle.

Wow, I thought that brand new mustangs would sell themselves, but the dealership went out and hired a model to pose with the cars.

Har har har guys. lol

They actually aren't as huge as I thought they would be, but pretty big nonetheless. That GT definitely looked pretty chunky next to my fox, but it was also parked back way further so the angle makes it look even bigger.

And hooooooooly man, does the GT ever sound amazing! The interior in the V6 and the GT are a huge improvement over the older ones, and the manuals have this awesome short shifter. The black GT has the upgraded stereo, and it's pretty impressive too. Probably against the popular opinion, I actually prefer the standard interior rather than the one with the upgraded package.

The silver V6 (base model with auto) was priced at 25,xxx and the GT (full load and standard) was 37,xxx.

And as for 37G's, ouch. Now Ford is getting out of hand. The Cobra is going to be well over 50 bills now.

I took a peak @ them today because i was in the area, to bad I couldn't go in and see because they are closed today...but I love them, they are pimp.....
37,000 is alittle steep but I think it's well worth the 37,000 considering what you get...

Well they're 4.5 inches longer and an inch wider than the 99-04's,which are longer and wider than the fox-3's so I'd say there'd be quite a difference.

think of it this way... cheaper and easier muffler swaps. Now every kid with a bank roll is going to have a v6 with fat cans lol.

well i went down there today and had a better look, i also have an appt for a test drive tommorrow from 4-5 in the sonic blue GT...

personally, after really sitting in/looking over one i dont really like them, everything is just too big i parked my car right beside it and it dwarfs my car bad, its like mustang for dummies, the dash is big and square and kinda ugly IMO all the buttons are huge, they are like PRESS ME!!! lol, mirrors are massive everything is just big... the engine dosnt look anywhere near as cool as the conept.. seats are no where near as nice as the ones in the 96 ... the exaust sounds kinda cool under 2k-3k, but above that its very very rappy.. almost farm truck ish ...

the shifter and clutch both feel alot better than previous mustangs.. the gauges that change color are kinda cool, but a needless way to raise the price of the car.

and for 40 G's, not to mention thats not even as much as the coupe GT's can cost, add a t-56 and whatever other options the ones at percival dont have... common now ... for that kinda money the 03/04 cobra is a MUCH MUCH better idea..

edit: so for ****s and giggles, i called jubilee to see about the 04 cobras
the mystachrome cobra is only $46,655 normal paint for 42,000.. the new gt's are stupidly overpriced

i'll reserve final judgement until i drive it tommorrow, but so far, i'd rather have any of the older body styles...

No ****! If you are thinking about buying one. Buy an '04 Cobra. I bet with some nice negociations it can be had for under 40.

I agree with you in a lot of ways Ryan. I went and sat in one yesterday and I scheduled a test drive for monday in a GT at Bennett. I sat in the car and I was like oh, okay. I wasn't like OMFG this thing is amazing! The shifter to me seems kinda weird. I'll reserve my final opinion until I drive the thing. And you're totally right about the bigness factor, big square everything. To me they are so much a revolution in Mustangs but an evolution.

ok well, i'm a bit more impressed with it now... for one, the sonic blue is just plain sexy, we got like 10 or so from random people driving around during the test drive...

the clutch and shifter are alot better when driving than any other stang i've driven.. and the exaust has a nicer tone when under load, its not as rappy... the car feels a bit heavy through the corners, but it handles decently (but then again, it has 100 k on it, so it better) the gauges are kinda hard to read when driving hard, on a quick glance down, wich is something that i really dont like... if i'm racing someone, i want to be able to just quickly glance down and have the tach almost jump out at me... the premium stereo (shaker 1000) sounds really nice, i was impressed with it, but again like everything else with the car, too expensive for what it is

they definately are quick, but good god it needs better tires 235's = (got rubber on the 3-4 shift, and thats not powershifting, just a good hard shift) i had it out for about a 1/2 hr maybe 45 mins, driving like i stole it pretty much the whole time... the weight of the car kinda helps with traction, but not much... around corners it dosnt seem to get as sideways as the 00 GT i drove a while ago, so i guess the rear suspension is a little better than on the previous models, either that or the weight helps the car plant.. but the seats suck my ass, you slide around them, if i were to get one, i'd make them put the older front seats in it, i hate them that much...

the car revs really fast, in first and second, youre at redline before you know it... was up to 230-240 on the ringroad in NO TIME... the car is really stable at high speeds, seems well put together wich is nice... i would say with a good tune(read that as a raunchy T&J tune lol), and tires that dont suck.. the car might go 12.8's or 12.9s maybe

so my final opinion:
interior : 5 out of 10 ( it just sucks IMO)
exterior: 8 out of 10 (very nice except the wheels/tires and exaust.. and the foglights are TOOO BIG
preformance:9 out of 10.. for a GT mustang it hauls ass, but just too heavy
price:
overall : 6-7 out of 10 (cool, pretty fast, way too expensive for what you get )

imo, the main reason for anyone to buy one is to show off, since EVERYONE loves them... the interior kinda sucks, while they are fast in a straight line, they are soo expensive, if i was buying a car for speed, in that price range, id have a cobra(or you could probably buy an 04 GT, and supercharge/forge it for that).. they are bigger and heavier than the previous models, while they dont feel TOO bad when driving, they wont make good racers... this is definately an old man car("it looks like the car i had when i was a kid", i heard someone say that today while i was waiting for the salesman to go get me keys).. or a good car for someone who isnt into modding/speed, but likes the mustang... to buy it for the look, and just leave it how it is they are fine.. but id take a 2v GT over them anyday for myself, being that i race the car/modify it...

edit: and hey guys, they ddo 8 year financing , i guess people are so desperate to buy them they are willing to be in debt almost 10 years just to have them

That is why I will have mine for a long time. And have well over 600HP. So I won't have to worry about no new hot rodders out there.
