Hey everyone. I am posting this just to get everyone's opinion on my 1/4 mile times. I went to a real quarter mile track today for the first time and got three runs in. My best two slips are below.

RT- .957........1.240(I don't even think I was watching the tree. )
60'- 2.371......2.347
330'- 6.316......6.300
1/8- 9.586......9.573
1/8 MPH- 75.39......75.33
1/4- 14.747....14.832
1/4 MPH 95.29......83.54

My reaction time was really crappy, I usually get around a 2.2 second 60' (there was a little wheel spin). I use street tires right now and I was launching at idle. My current mods are in my sig, I don't have a current dyno run (next weekend). I know I'm not the best driver in the world but I was hoping for a little more than 14.7. Any idea why the two speeds would be so different? Thanks everyone.

BTW, I know that the wheels, bumper inserts, and headlights didn't do jack for me.

man PLEASE get that 60 foot time down. You should be able launch higher than idle. You could get lower 14s easily.

Thanks. I'm going to probably get some adjustable drag struts and adjustable shocks put on next week. I'm going to get the Steeda LCA and UCA's as well.

Wait a second..........how do you "usually get 2.2 60's" if itwas your first time to the track?

Sorry, I'll elaborate.

It was my first time to a QUARTER MILE track. In San Diego, we have to use Qualcomm stadium on Friday nights if we are going to race. It's an 1/8th mile "track" that they set up in the parking lot. They use a portatree timing system there and the 2.2 was the best I could get. I went to Carlsbad today, which is a 1/4 mile track. Sorry about that!

On the 1/8th, I usually run about a 9.6 at around 73 MPH. All of this is with an idle launch.

83 MPH. It's mind boggling to me. Unless there was a malfunction on the tree or timing system that's what I have. I was racing my friend and he had a .610 RT with his 94 GT compared to my 1.240. He ran a 15.532 @ 80.85 MPH. I ran him down at the end and finished first, and my slip reads 14.832@83.54 MPH.

It really doesn't make sense.

Actually, no. I don't really practice much, but they have races again Friday, and I'm just going to try to learn how to launch then.

I would find a back road and prcatice your launches. You should be run mid to low 14's.

bah, a back road doesn't help at all
my car reacts totally different to the track surface than a road. (sucks more at the track)

Today was my frist time at the track ever. I got two runs in, but I need a lot more practice.

R/T .473
60' 2.483
330 6.451
1/8 9.719@ 75.07 MPH
1000 12.507
1/4 14.843 @ 96.47 MPH

I have to say, these numbers are much better than my first set.
