1/8th mile track times, good or no??

I know absolutley nothing about 1/8th mile times, but i went tonight and had trouble with my launch but my best 2 runs were 9.552 @74.704 and 9.681@73.231, with my mods, should I be running faster????? I kind of feel like that is a sorry time, but once again I know nothing about 1/8th mile times. so let me know.

you should be running faster imo, look @ my sig to see what I ran tonight, we have almost the same mods except you have a real intake and no cam, and I have a home ported one and a mild cam I would think those would equal out... what were you 60' times?

my mods are listed in my sig and i have stock 2.73 gears and ran a 9.7@74mph with a 2.2 60'

I don't know... where do you live? is the altitude significantly above sea level? when I was running crappy street tires I was cutting 2.2 and 2.3 60's, running 9.19's and 9.20's @ 77 ish... I still think you should be faster... and this is all in the texas heat, which has been brutal here...

i live in north carolina and today it was about 90 degrees with about 95% humidity, and I was running ****ty street tires, but i figured i would still run quicker than that. 60' time was a 2.324

not sure how much your car weighs, last night went 8.94 @ 77.something, mods in sig, only thing not in sig, electric fan, mickey thompson et street radials, cut a 1.89 60'

You need some serious hookup. 2.3 is sad, no offence. First of all, something sticky on the rear wheels would make a huge difference, not to mention being sure the traction-loc is working 100%. Try disconnecting the front swaybar by the link when you go to the track as well. UCA and LCA's make a huge difference in both traction, handling, and just overall ride quality. For power, I think longtubes would really boost the low end torque but I don't think you'll see too much a gain worth the cash until you do something about those heads. One other "weakness" is see is those gears. 3.55's are kind of high for a SN, 3.73 minimal, 4.10-4.30 optimal and if your scared to get a 4.xx gear then 3.90 would get you closer.

I ran a 9.5@75mph on a 2.0 sixty. I was at sea level (thereabouts) and in 85 degree weather.

I should also mention my car had a CAI, O/R H-pipe and flowmasters, shifter and 225-50 tires. This is a 207k mile street car with a T-lok that is barely functioning.
