i would like my stang project to be a 10 sec car. i whant it to be a mid 10's sec car on slicks. i know that can be done but here is the chatch it's going to be a auto and i whant to be able to drive it on the street. it will not be a daily driver just something that i can take out on the weekends and local cruz nights then take to the track, throw on some slicks and run mid 10's.

i'm open to a 351 swap or a 347, and turbos and supercharger but no juce for me thank you

----do you guys think this can be done?----

It depends on how "streetable" you want it to be. A good turbo system on a nice and stout engine can put out a lot of power. You might need to get rid of power steering, Air conditioning, and other accessories to make room for the turbo and/or plumbing though. Then you'll need to work on getting that power to the ground. It really depends on what you want the car to be.

I would say the best way is with juice. Build a low 12 sec engine and through some juice at it and bam your in the 10's. Then day in day out your driving a 12 second car N/A that is very streetable. Since you don't want juice I would suggest a 351w based stroker. A mustang with 450 RWHP will get in the 10's aslong as it has the proper suspension and been put on a diet. A 408 stroker fed by a Y-Trim or a Novi 2000 should get you to mid 10's if not quicker depending on the tune.

stroker kit or 351 swap with h/c/i and a centrifugal blower is quite streetable. you will need a few extra pounds of boost, and a good tune.

I think it depends on how "streetable" you want it. I have a pretty aggressive N/A motor in my car that runs pretty good on the street. It would be more than capable of propelling a fox into the high 10's. Add any kind of juice or a blower and you could do mid 10's easy. Don't forget all the extra work the rest of the car will need to support this to allow it to run that fast.

Yea it can be done...

Friend ahd a 347 combo that ran 10.50's on slick and 10.80's on DR's, in a 93 vert. The 10.80's were with chrome pony's and Mickey Thompson drags radials. Combos was 347 with sportsman block, E-brock victor Jr heads, E-brock victor 5.0 intake, 75mm TB, 55# injectors, JMS 4 bank chip, custom cam, Vortech V-2 s-trim(13-14#'s),, AOD & 3.73's. Suspension was, MM lower control arms, through floor sub frames, 6 pt roll bar, adjustable Tokicoo drag struts and UPR k-member set up. Motor was spun to 6700 RPMs though, and that's waht made the boost rise to the 13-14#'s with the stock 3.33 head pulley and 8" lower.

car was very streetable, but wasn't too good on gas milage. Did have working AC, power steering, and full interior.

Only had to track once with that combo before selling. Guy who bought said he ran 10.20's in with more seat time.

Here are a few pictures of the sleeper...

My friend drives a 10 second street driven almost every day 93 lx hatch. He has a dss 393 stroker with a ps-1 procharger pushing only 12 pounds. The motor was built for boost so he doesnt blow it up. He turns down the boost as well as fuel when on the street and then goes to the track tunes up adds 104 fuel slicks up and runs high to mid tens.

cool thanks for all the info. i whanted to make sure this was a resonable goal.
still not sure if i whant to go with a windsor 393/408 or a 347 and i'm leaning towards the supercharger as i don't whant to mess up the classic off road h-pipe and flows sound with the turbo. and i'm leaning towards the 347 as i'm not sure about the added cost of putting in a windsor (new hood, new m.m.'s and stuff like that)

i guess i still have plinty of time to plain the project out.

can be done. Buddy here in my town has a 93 hatch 347/5speed/4.10 set up. Drives the car every day, has a/c and PS, and with a little help from the bottle runs 10.00 flat. Ran an 11.5 last weekend off the bottle. Times are with slicks.
