104 octane

heading to the track this coming weekend. Would running 104 octane make my car run better. I usually run 93 octane in it. I was thinking of putting a couple of gallons in with the regular gas.

What compression is your motor? Whats your timing at?

If your set up and state of tune doesn't require it, then wouldn't run it.

Probably not. As I understand it, you want the lowest octane you can run without pinging. The more octane, the harder it is for the gas to combust, which is why you can increase your timing when running higher octane and also why higher octane gas is required for higher compression ratio's.

I didn't see your mods, but I'd assume 93 is probably more than enough.

If your running 11:1 compression or better, sure!! But for a stock 5.0 it would be over kill! You can safely advance your timing to 14-15 degree's with 93 octane.

Yeah I have it set at about 15 with 93 octane. I will leave it at that.

I can run 87 with verry little pining...89 with no pinging and 91 it runs fine...mine is at 13*
