You’d see the pressure drop off. Anyway to get a reading while at a roll?

I have a fuel pressure gauge on it within the engine bay. I suppose I could drive home at first hint of it and jack up the rear.

My car was doing something similar. Ended up being the aftermarket coil.

No, but if that's the likely culprit ill just purchase a Ford one from RockAuto.

Ok. Thanks. I think the Motorsports one through Rock Auto is $87. Not bad.

Getting a Motorcraft coil (Part #DG470) from OReilly's today. We'll see if it resolves the issue.

If it's not the coil then the only thing remaining that I can think of is the computer is going bad? I don't know if the circuits slowing fade out or go bust all at once.

There’s other things that I would suspect before computer. If it’s not the coil, I’d do some troubleshooting first before launching the parts cannon at the issue. Fuel pressure under load is one thing. Spark plug gap and condition of plugs. Compression test, and several others.

Coil wire?
One spark plug wire with a intermittent short to ground?
Plug boot(s) going bad causing cross fire?

I've checked all the wires while it's dark and have observed no arcing or cross fire.

The fuel pressure was set at 38 during my tune and has always remained consistent. Spark plugs are new and wires are "newer" and I had a valve job less than 1k ago.

Ill drive it to a car show this coming weekend and will be able to determine if the new Motorcraft coil solved the issue.

Good discussion.

Still doing it. It's not the coil and it's not due to the volume of fuel in the tank. So strange.

Was it doing this before you got the tune this summer? I went back to read about it a noticed you had a coolant leak. What ever came of that?
