When mine had 3.73's and an off road H pipe (otherwise stock) it went 13.2's on 235/60-15 drag radials.
If your stock tach is accurate you are shifting it too high. 5500 for 1st to 2nd is ok, but the next 2 shifts will probably want to be around 5000-5200.
For the launch, remember, a dead hook will result in a bog, and bog = breakage.
Try leaving the pressure at 15.5-16 and launch that thing at 5500rpm, it should spin the tires, then start working air pressure back till you are just rolling them over out of the hole.
