Hey all,

Just picked up an 89' 140mph Instrument Panel and all of it looks the same as my 88' (85mph IP) except for this weird chip located on the back of the IP.
I included pics and luckily enough the chip still has a PN on it.
(E9ZF1AA-9F05B)

Something in me wants to say, "slosh" chip thing for the gas and another part says, "don't guess just go post and ask..."

So here are the pics....pretty clean, i'm going to take off the cover and use the Latemo cover i got and replace the bulbs with my superbrightled.com wedge bulbs. Things make all the difference at night.

Anybody got any ideas? Thanks

That is the anti-slosh module for the fuel gage. It keeps the fuel quantity indicator from jumping around when you drive on bumpy roads.

I would touch up (reheat) the solder on the top row of pins. You can tell the solder is already cracked around the pins.

Thanks everybody. my guess was right about the, "slosh" chip. I've seen people cry about being sold one on ebay and it not coming with one. So lucky me.
Thanks to Fox Fire 5.0 (760-598-3322) for the parts. They had everything i was looking for....cheap.....and they were local in San Diego/Vista.
Consider this thread solved.

You can only buy a new slosh modules for 90-93. 87-89 are different and discontinued from Ford .

Will a 90-93 speedo fit in a 1989 with no problems or modification? Looks like it will just plug in. Prob not though, huh?

The connectors are the same, the wiring is different.

See http://www.stangnet.com/tech/cluster87-93.pdf for more information including what wires need to be moved.
You will need the Adobe Acrobat viewer which is a free download at http://www.adobe.com/images/shared/download_buttons/get_adobe_reader.png
