I have the option to buy a pair of 15" wheels for my lowered 69.
Will a 10" wide wheel with approx. 5.9" backspacing fit the car without rubbing? This is only for a set of M/T Drag Radials, not for street use. Tires will be 275/50R15.

Mine is a 69 here's my setup.
I did have to cut out the front of the inner wheel well for clearance.

Front: Weld Prostar 15 X 7 3.5" Backspace 215-65-15
Rear: Weld Prostar 15 X 10 6.5" Backspace 295-50-15

shouldn't have to do any cutting with a 275 though. i have a 275/50-15 on mine currently on an 8" rim and i only had to roll the lip.

15x10 on mine. This is a old pic but I did upgrade to a P295-50-15.

The wheel will fit fine..it's the rubber you need to worry about.

I run 275 rubber with my 70 lowered about 2.5" and it fits great. 295 is possible if you roll the fender lips and go with some stiffer springs.

Thx,
I'm lowered about the same so I'll stick to 275 then. Wheels will only be for occational drags & street races, so I don't want to modify anything just for that.
