Can I fit the 16" V6 wheels (the mulit-spoke rims w/ center spinner cap) from the new '05 stangs on my '66 coupe? and if so, any idea where to find some, or does anyone have pictures with a classic stang riding on those rims?
I can't decide what I think of them. I don't hate them on the car. They're just not my most favorite wheel for a 65-66. I think I might like them better on a brighter color car.
I just got back from the tire shop to test fit these exact wheels on my '70 fastback. Unless the 65-66 is different for backspacing, the '70 needs at least 1-3/4" adapters (if not 2") to make them fit. We held the new wheel up to the front hub and 1-3/4" will allow enough room for turning radius, etc. but the wheel is quite a ways inside the fender. Also, wait for a posting on ebay from a company called rattlesnakewheel. If you just want the rims and not the tires, you can get all for SHIPPED and WITH the spinner center caps for $425. Why spend $100 extra for tires you just gonna take off anyway??
