17" GT rims...what to look out for?

I picked up some 17" GT rims with some decent tires for $200 to put on my wife's V6 Mustang.

Stock 17" GT rim 245/65R17 replacing stock 15" V6 rim with 205/45R15.

The speedo will be a little slower I believe.

Other than that, I should have no problems right?

I haven't noticed too much of a difference when I switched from 16" to 17", as far as performance. Maybe a little more of a wheel hop.. if that makes since.

Switching makes a lot of difference as far as looks. Can't believe what a difference a nice set of rims make. I have the 40th anniversary arizona beige colored 17" Bullitts rims.

stock 17" mustang tires are 245/45/17

Anything from 15" to 20" rims will be fitted with the correct tire size from a shop so that the diameter of the tire is the same. I'm so sick of hearing this misconception all the time.

Anyway, the larger the rim, the slower your acceleration will be due to rotational mass.

The only thing to look out for are potholes.

not quite, you have to add in the tire height also. 245/45/17 are very close to 265/35/18

OK, fine. As a general rule, the larger the rim, the more rotational mass.
