You don't HAVE to run drag radials, that was just the example. You can find tires that wide in street tires as well. You just have to look at tire rack, etc. and you will find some street tires that will fit the 10.5" rears. Someone will chime in with the sizes, but they can be found. Maybe 295's? Do they make 305's?

I checked the tire rack and discounttiredirect and the largest i can find is 285. not 295s or 305s. This is killing me because i dont want to step up to 18s. thanks

I run both my cars all summer on drag radials with no issues. the bfg's hook a bit harder but the nittos last longer and have better street manners.......if you cared to know LOL. I ususally get 2 summers out of a set btw

315/35/17 is a nice fit. Look for some Sumitumo HTR-Z's in that size. Im running them and they are a good tire. Handle well, grip well when its warm out.

Why dont you want to run them? They are cheaper than most and fit great.

I ran Nitto NT555 285's on my 18x10.5's before I got the DR's. They fit pretty well. That's on 18's though.

I had a set of those on my car for 2 weeks. I took them off and sold them. The have the biggest thread gaps I ever seen. Hooked for poop and had poor handling. Ok for just cruising. The smaller sizes are better though because the have smaller thread gaps with the same pattern.

The Nitto NT555 "Not a DR" P285/40 ZR17 specification for rim size width is 9.0 - 11.0 inches and 10.0 being the perferred size, but they will fit on a 10.5 inch rim.

I happen to have 2 of these tire's with about 5K on them. PM me if your interested, I will let them go cheap.

Yeah, they are not the best tire out there but they do the job ok for my car. Ive never had any extraordinary tires on either one of my vehicles (beside mud terrains on my Cherokee) because I go through them too fast. My biggest complaint is the tread wears fast. I had just as many burnouts on the 245/45/17 Federals with the stock wheels and they still are on the car (front tires), but these Sumitumo's shed tread like its cool.

For the Stang I just need Z rated tires, lol.

you can run a 295, 305, and 315 on a 10.5. Get a pair of KDW's. Done.

I run Sumitomo HTR-Z 315's. They do ok for normal driving, but if I want real traction , I just swap them off and put on my 15" Pro Stars with my Drag Radials.

I run the Sumitomos on my 95 GT & like everyone else said, they do ok in normal cruising, but traction sucks from a launch... Unfortunately they are they only affordable 315 out there besides DR's & My 95 is the year round daily so DR's are out of the question....I also dont really like the look of the Sumi's either because they dont have the rim lip protector & they arent as wide as some of the other 315's out there....

I wish BFG made a KDW2 in a 17" 315 or @ least a 295....I have the 295/35/18's on my Mach & I love em....
