I ran 16X7 with 4.5" offset in the front with the GW uppers and didn't have an interference problem unless I had the car at full lock one way or another. I had a bent travel stop that was the culprit (the one that bolts on the strut rod at the LCA). You could of got an 8" wheel in there easy.

Whatever you do, you need a shelby drop at a minimum or for maximum clearance you need either the GW arms or the PMS kit that lowers the arm 1 3/4". In stock form, the suspension gets positive camber gain on compression. Puts the tires right into the fenders. Not good.

People can argue weither or not you need the extra 3/4" of drop from a performance standpoint, but they can't argue the additional clearance you get from the camber gain!

Foose Nitrous 5 wheels

Has anybody put a set of these on yet in the 17" size. Sure look good but have a 4 1/2" BS and a 5"BS. If so, what size tires did you go with.

Putting them on a 65 Fastback.

I have 17x8's on a 66 coupe. I'm using an opentracker upper with the 1.75 arm drop. I'm using 225's on the front.

I have 1/4" between the rim and uca so 4.75bs is max with my setup. On the outside I have plenty of room with a 225. I'll run a 245-40-17 next time without an issue or a fender roll.

The only issue I had was at the front lower driver side fender. That area rubbed over a hard bump. I went in with a grinder and made that lip smaller. That lip was about an inch wide and I removed enough metal to make it look the same width as the rest of the fender lip.

As dodgestang will tell you this worked for ME and your results may be different. If you are unwilling to roll a fender or redo some paint, buy a 7" wide rim with 4.5 bs. Also use a tire 225 or less.

I am running 17x8 4.5BS on a 235/45 tire with cut 620's and a Shelby drop, stock rest. No rubbing.

If the 255 45 17 was easy to get in there, you'd be mad that a 285 wouldn't fit!!!lol

I have Globalwest suspension on the front with 17x8 and 245's with a rolled (badly) fender. I had to do some work on the upper arms to keep them out of the rims at the upper ball joint area. Also modified the steering stops to help. Rear have 17x9's with either 245 or 255's, and again badly rolled fenders with a baseball bat. Rims are Compomotive Cobra style, I can't remember the offset but 4.75" come to mind.

I was going to ask who has 275x17's on the rears? And how?

I have seen a few cars with them at the track and it looks like it could fit with just enough room to clear the leaf, but very hard to say. 17x10 exactly fit right would be needed with all going towards the in side (center) of the car. It also may be that they use the slightly narrow springs to get the meats on the car, but I didn't think to look...

Im running Stock 2001 17x8's with 245/45's all the way around, no spacers. The front of the drivers fender rubs when backing out of my driveway, but thats it! I have wilwood discs in front ( 1/2") more track width, and a '67 9" rear(1" wider track each side). I did need to grind the uca's for clearance.

If you are not set on that particular brand you could go with Coy C-5's.

They look almost identical and are availabe in 17 x 7.
I put 17 x 8 with 4.½ B.S. on the rear of my 65 and 17 x 7 4¼ B.S. on the front
