18inch & a drop, would car bottom out?

I have a 2001, with 17 inch rims...my point Is, Im planning soon to get new rims, 18 inch saleens or something like It. anyway I live in ny, so when I get them rims I also want to drop It an inch or two. would It bottom out a lot or drive real bad..being that where I live most of the streets are F***ed up.??

I have 18X9.5 on a 96. Also have a 1.25 drop. No bottoming out.

1.3" on a 98 vert. I live in Buffalo and haven't bottomed out yet (crossed fingers). Our roads suck big time, and know where to just take it easy or go into slolom mode to avoid the bottomless pot holes.

Rims will make no difference in ride height provided you go with the recommended tire size for the size you put on, but those rims are going to slow down your acceleration quite a bit.
