Ok, I want to order 18" deep dish chrome bullet wheels for my 05 gt, howerever, on american muscle.com where ill be ordering them, the sidewall on the 18X9 is different than that of the 18X10s....So I guess the 18X10s in the back and 9s in the front is out of the question because I think it will look stupid with the profile being thicker on the front....my question is, do 18X9's look ok all the way around? Or should i look somewhere else to get the 18X10's in the back with matching tires? Thanks

The tire size americanmuscle.com has for those wheels is not that much different. The rear(275/40) are 26.7" tall while the front(255/45) are 27" tall. That is barely over .25" difference front to rear. To help with the looks, the rear is nearly 1"(.8) wider.

The second number in a tire size(275/40-18) is the aspect ratio(% sidewall height relative to the tire width). A 275/40 has a tire width of 10.8". 40% of that is 4.32". A 255/45 has a tire width of 10". 45% of that is 4.5"

Bridgestone makes a Potenza RE050 275/45 that is 27.8" tall along with the 255/45. That will give you a more muscular look. This is probably what i will do...I like the meatier sidewall tires on these S197s.

Running 18X10's in the back with 9's in the front will give it a more aggressive look, but there are a few minor issues to consider.... Running different sizes means you won't be able rotate your tires, which means a little less life on the tread all around. If it's an issue for you, a larger size setup in the back means even more rotational mass to deal with. It will effect your off the line acceleration and 1/4 times. Also, the cost of tire replacement will be slightly higher for the larger rubber in the back. I went with 18X9's all around, and I think they look great.

It's really down to personal choice and what's important to you.

I have 18X9 Cragar S/S +36 O/S with Nitto 555 Extreme 255/45/18 on all 4 and I think it looks just right - pretty much even with the outside of the fender, however this is a function of the offset. A +36 offset wheel makes the tires about even with the fender well. This combination also retains the correct (same as factory 17" Pirelli) overall height of the tire.
