1965 road race Mustang

The first year of Trans-Am racing was 1966. The Mustang won the championship that year and several more in the years that followed.

The sedan was popular since guys thought it was a little lighter. The class was AS (American Sedan). Shelbys ran in BP (B-production) due to it's 2 seat design (in the GT350R).

I just love the look of the competition spec Trans Am cars.

If I had a coupe I'd probably go that way with it.
